The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising all electrical, electronic, automation, mechanical. Co ordination with refrigeration, utility, and building maintenance contractors activities within the food manufacturing facility. The role ensures maximum equipment availability, safe operation, effective preventive maintenance, rapid breakdown response, and compliance with food safety and statutory requirements. The supervisor also monitors performance, trains staff and works closely with other departments to maintain a safe and productive working environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring optimal performance and productivity.
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities.
- Coordinate with other departments to plan and execute maintenance activities efficiently.
- Supervise maintenance technicians, electricians, mechanics, refrigeration technicians, and utility operations.
- Diagnose and address maintenance issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and rectify faults in electrical control panels, motors, contactors, relays, sensors, encoders, inverters, and servo drives.
- Read and understand electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, control schematics, and technical manuals.
- Troubleshoot electronic control boards, power supplies, safety circuits, and instrumentation systems.
- Ensure safe maintenance of LV electrical systems and distribution panels.
- Possess good working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, industrial sensors, and communication networks.
- Diagnose automation faults and restore machine operation safely & Perform PLC and HMI program backups and maintain proper version control.
- Steam boilers and associated feed-water systems, Thermic fluid heaters and circulation systems, Industrial air compressors and compressed-air dryers, Centralized ammonia refrigeration systems, Chillers, cooling towers, condensers, and pumps & HVAC and ventilation systems.
- Enforce and promote a strong safety culture within the team, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services.
- Ensure vendor compliance with service agreements and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
- Generate reports on equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance costs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams for facility upgrades and improvement projects.
