Management Accountant – ConstructionLondon | Full-time | PermanentWe’re working with a leading UK construction and design business to recruit a Management Accountant for its London finance team.This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who either already has construction industry experience or wants to build their career within the sector. The business delivers high-quality commercial construction, fit-out and workplace projects across London and the UK, operating across multiple group entities in a fast-paced, project-led environment.Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of key areas of management accounting and financial reporting, working closely with the wider finance team and stakeholders across the business.The RoleYour responsibilities will include:Owning the month-end close and preparing Management Accounts across group trading entitiesPreparing and posting journals including WIP, accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, expenses and payrollProducing variance analysis, cashflow forecasts and supporting month-end reportingPreparing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving outstanding itemsPreparing bank reconciliations and monitoring cash positions across multiple entitiesSupporting statutory reporting and year-end accountsLiaising with external auditorsPreparing and submitting CIS returns, VAT returns, pension returns, PAYE and pension payments, P11D and PSA submissionsSupporting the continued improvement of financial controls, processes and reportingProviding accurate financial information to support commercial and operational decision-makingAbout YouWe’re particularly interested in candidates who have worked within construction, fit-out, property, engineering or another project-led environment.You’ll ideally be:Part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or qualified by experienceExperienced in Management Accounts and month-end reportingComfortable working with WIP and CISStrong technically, with a good understanding of statutory reportingConfident working within a fast-moving, commercially focused businessHighly organised with excellent attention to detailA strong communicator who can work effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholdersAdvanced in Excel, including pivot tables, data analysis and financial modellingExperienced with Microsoft Dynamics 365 – highly advantageousWhy Apply?This isn’t an accounting role within a slow-moving corporate environment.
