The business places importance on collaboration, employee wellbeing and professional development, with opportunities for career progression.The role and responsibilitiesReporting to a Finance Business Partner, the Management Accountant will support project financial reporting, controls and commercial decision-making, working closely with senior project and operational stakeholders.Key responsibilities include:Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs.Monitoring project cash flow, working capital and cost controls.Supporting budgets, forecasts and quarterly financial reviews.Analysing financial performance and explaining key variances.Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting year-end audits.Maintaining financial controls, including payments, purchase-to-pay processes and VAT.Providing financial insight to commercial and operational stakeholders.Supporting improvements to reporting processes and financial controls.Skills and requirementsThe successful candidate will bring:A recognised professional accounting qualification.Working knowledge of management accounting, financial reporting and budgeting.Experience preparing management information and analysing financial performance.An understanding of cash flow, cost control and balance sheet reporting.The ability to communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.Confidence working with financial systems and reporting tools.Flexibility to travel to business and project locations when required.Construction or project-based industry experience would be advantageous, as would working knowledge of Oracle or Power BI, although neither is essential.What's on offer?Salary of £45,000–£55,000 per annum.Permanent position within an established UK construction business.Flexible working arrangements, subject to project requirements.Exposure to senior commercial and project leadership.Opportunities for professional development and career progression.Involvement in the financial management of a major construction project.Interested?If you're a Management Accountant looking to develop your commercial finance experience, we'd welcome your application.Apply now to be considered as applications are reviewed.Due to the volume of applications received, if you don’t hear back from us, please assume your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.If you require any adjustments or additional support during the recruitment process for any reason whatsoever, please let your Cobalt consultant know.
