Brown & Brown GroupThe Role:We are looking for an MI (Management Information) Analyst to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with around 18 months’ experience in an MI, reporting, data or analytics-focused position who is looking to further develop their technical and commercial skills within a fast-paced insurance environment.The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming and analysing data, producing high-quality reporting, and delivering actionable insight to stakeholders across the business.While broader MI and analytical experience is desirable, this role has two absolute core technical.Requirements:Advanced expertise in Power Query within Excel, including the ability to build queries and write M code from scratchAdvanced expertise in Power BI, including creating robust, insightful and visually effective reports and dashboardsKey Responsibilities:Design, develop and maintain MI reporting solutions for internal stakeholdersBuild and enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting suitesDevelop and maintain Power Query solutions in Excel, including writing custom M code from scratchExtract, cleanse, transform and validate data from multiple sourcesProduce accurate and timely management information and performance reportingIdentify opportunities to improve reporting automation and efficiencySupport business users with data analysis and reporting requirementsEnsure consistency, accuracy and integrity of reporting outputsWork collaboratively with operational and leadership teams to understand reporting needsEssential Skills & Experience:Absolute Must-Have Skills:Expert-level capability in Power Query (Excel) with the ability to:Write M code from scratchBuild complex transformation logicOptimise and troubleshoot queriesExpert-level capability in Power BI, including:Building dashboards and reports from the ground upData modellingDAX knowledgeCreating clear and commercially useful visualisationsExperience:Approximately 18 months’ experience in an MI Analyst, Reporting Analyst, Data Analyst or similar roleStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and data accuracyAbility to communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholdersStrong Excel capabilityDesirable Skills:The following are advantageous but not essential:Experience within insurance or financial servicesSQL knowledgeExperience working with large datasetsUnderstanding of KPI reporting and operational MIExperience with data governance or data quality processes
