The person must actively challenge under-utilisation, identify productivity gaps and work with Operations, Fleet, Maintenance and Site teams to improve business results.The primary objective is simple:Maximum Fleet Utilisation + Maximum Vehicle Productivity + Minimum Idle Time + Optimum Fuel/Energy Cost + Maximum Contribution per VehicleKey Responsibilities
- Take central ownership of fleet utilisation and optimisation across all projects and locations.
- Monitor deployed, available, idle, breakdown and under-utilised vehicles daily.
- Ensure every available vehicle is deployed where it can deliver the highest productivity and commercial return.
- Identify surplus fleet at one project and coordinate redeployment to higher-demand operations.
- Improve trips per vehicle, kilometres per vehicle, MT/TEU/container productivity and overall asset utilisation.
- Reduce idle vehicles, empty kilometres, waiting time and unproductive movement.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and work directly with Site and Operations teams for corrective action.
- Monitor vehicle-wise and project-wise performance through a central Business Control Tower.
- Develop dashboards covering fleet, operations, targets, maintenance, drivers, customer SLA, costs and profitability.
- Track daily and monthly target vs achievement across all projects.
- Identify vehicles and projects operating below expected productivity.
- Monitor GPS and telematics data including route deviation, excessive idling, stoppages, overspeeding and driver behaviour.
- Analyse vehicle-wise revenue, operating cost and contribution.
- Support project-level and customer-level P&L analysis.
- Identify low-margin or loss-making operations and recommend measurable improvement actions.
- Work closely with Operations, Maintenance and Fleet teams to improve availability and reduce breakdown downtime.
- Support fleet requirement forecasting and future vehicle allocation planning.
- Optimise the mix of owned, leased and subcontracted fleet based on utilisation and profitability.EV & Energy Optimization
- Monitor EV fleet availability, utilisation and productivity.
- Analyse kWh/km, kWh/trip, kWh/MT and kWh/TEU.
- Monitor charging time, charger utilisation and charging downtime.
- Optimise charging schedules around vehicle operating requirements.
- Reduce vehicle waiting time at charging and battery-swapping locations.
- Analyse energy consumption by vehicle, route, driver and project.
- Identify abnormal EV energy consumption and drive corrective action.
- Reconcile vehicle energy consumption with charging infrastructure and energy-provider data.
- Monitor energy cost per km, trip, MT and TEU.
- Compare ICE vs EV operating economics to determine the most suitable deployment model.

- 5–8+ years of experience in fleet management, transportation, logistics, operational excellence, business analytics or EV operations.
- Engineering degree with MBA / PGDM preferred.
- Strong analytical and commercial mindset.
- Excellent Excel skills; Power BI / Tableau experience preferred.
- Experience with GPS, telematics, ERP or fleet-management systems.
- Strong understanding of fleet utilisation and transport operating KPIs.
- Ability to understand vehicle-wise and project-wise P&L.
- Knowledge of commercial EVs, charging infrastructure and energy economics will be a strong advantage.
- Experience in ports, container logistics, industrial transportation, mining, coal or commercial fleets preferred.
- Strong problem-solving capability and ability to challenge operational teams constructively.
