As the Manager, Market & Competitive Intelligence (MI/CI), you will lead the strategy, transformation, and execution of global intelligence and insights capabilities that enable data-driven business decisions across commercial and therapeutic areas. This role will be responsible for driving the evolution of traditional MI/CI functions through the adoption of advanced analytics, AI, and Generative AI (GenAI) technologies, creating scalable intelligence solutions that accelerate insight generation and decision-making.You will serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior business leaders, leveraging market research, competitive intelligence, social listening, secondary and primary research, and AI-powered intelligence platforms to identify market opportunities, competitive threats, emerging trends, and strategic implications. The role will also oversee the modernization of MI/CI operating models, processes, and technology ecosystems to deliver faster, more actionable, and predictive insights.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Capability TransformationDefine and lead the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Market Intelligence and Competitive Intelligence capabilities across key therapeutic, commercial, and strategic business priorities.Drive the modernization of MI/CI functions through the adoption of advanced analytics, automation, AI, and Generative AI technologies.Establish scalable intelligence frameworks, operating models, and best practices that improve speed, consistency, and business impact of insight generation.Build and execute a digital transformation roadmap for MI/CI, incorporating emerging technologies, external data assets, and knowledge management capabilities.AI & GenAI InnovationLead the design and implementation of GenAI-powered MI/CI solutions including intelligence copilots, automated literature monitoring, competitive signal detection, insight generation, and executive briefing tools.Leverage Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, and advanced search technologies to improve intelligence gathering and synthesis.Identify opportunities to automate manual research processes and enhance analyst productivity through AI-enabled workflows.Partner with Data Science, AI, Product, and Technology teams to develop next-generation intelligence solutions and drive enterprise adoption.Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic AdvisoryAct as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, collaborating across Commercial, Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Business Development, and Strategy functions.Deliver forward-looking market, competitor, and industry insights that influence key business decisions, product strategy, portfolio planning, and investment priorities.Facilitate executive-level discussions by translating complex information into concise strategic recommendations.Research & Intelligence LeadershipOversee a portfolio of secondary research, primary research, competitive intelligence, social listening, market monitoring, and strategic intelligence programs.Guide the development of competitive landscapes, market trend assessments, KOL insights, conference intelligence, pipeline tracking, and strategic scenario analysis.Ensure methodological rigor, quality assurance, and alignment to business priorities across all intelligence initiatives.Insight Generation & StorytellingSynthesize diverse data sources, market signals, and competitive developments into clear, actionable insights and strategic implications.Deliver high-impact executive presentations, dashboards, and intelligence products tailored for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.Drive adoption of advanced visualization, storytelling, and insight communication best practices.Vendor & Ecosystem ManagementLead relationships with external research agencies, intelligence providers, data partners, and technology vendors.Evaluate emerging MI/CI platforms, AI solutions, and data sources to continuously enhance organizational intelligence capabilities.Ensure cost-effective execution, vendor performance, and data quality standards.Governance & ExcellenceEstablish governance frameworks for intelligence generation, AI adoption, research quality, knowledge management, and insight dissemination.Define KPIs and success measures to evaluate the impact of intelligence activities on business outcomes.Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and best practices across the MI/CI organization.Team Leadership & Talent DevelopmentBuild, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of MI/CI professionals, fostering a culture of strategic thinking, innovation, and analytical excellence.Develop future-ready capabilities across market research, competitive intelligence, analytics, and AI-driven intelligence methodologies.Champion continuous learning and upskilling in emerging AI and GenAI technologies.Qualifications10-12+ years of experience in Market Intelligence, Competitive Intelligence, Strategic Insights, Commercial Analytics, or Market Research within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences industry.Should have worked on GenAI projects.Demonstrated experience leading large-scale MI/CI programs and influencing senior executives through strategic insights and intelligence.Proven experience modernizing intelligence capabilities through digital transformation, advanced analytics, AI, and Generative AI solutions.Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercialization, competitive landscape analysis, market dynamics, pipeline intelligence, and strategic planning.Hands-on experience with AI/GenAI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, enterprise search, and intelligent knowledge management platforms.Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools for research automation, insight generation, competitive monitoring, and market sensing.Deep expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, competitive intelligence frameworks, and insight generation approaches.Demonstrated success managing global stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and third-party vendors in a matrixed environment.Strong executive communication, storytelling, and presentation skills with the ability to distill complex information into strategic recommendations.Experience leading globally distributed teams and driving organizational capability-building initiatives.Preferred QualificationsExperience developing or implementing GenAI-powered MI/CI products, intelligence portals, insight copilots, or market sensing platforms.Familiarity with commercial pharma domains including Forecasting, Omnichannel Analytics, Customer Engagement, Patient Analytics, and Strategic Planning.Experience with visualization and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau), AI platforms (Azure OpenAI, Databricks, AWS AI Services), and commercial
