The role involves researching driver behaviour, developing and delivering well-being and capability-building programs, providing counselling support, analysing workforce trends to improve retention, and partnering with internal stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate initiatives that foster a healthy, productive, and supportive work environment aligned with operational goals.Key AccountabilitiesDesign and conduct research using methodologies such as surveys, interviews, observations, and experiments to understand driver behaviour, motivation, and attitudes, and use the findings to improve the work environment, policies, and operational practices.Develop training programs for the well-being of drivers, such as fatigue management, stress reduction, healthy eating and exercise, proper sleep habits and others.Help drivers maintain physical and mental health, reduce the risk of accidents, and improve overall job performance.Design, implement, and analyse driver exit interviews to identify factors contributing to turnover and recommend initiatives to improve retention and employee satisfaction.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, evaluate, and continuously improve initiatives that enhance driver satisfaction, productivity, and retention.Provide consultation and support to managers and other leaders on issues related to driver behaviour and performance.Provide counselling services to the drivers as and when required.Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices to ensure that programs and initiatives are current and relevant.Develop, implement, and oversee structured driver training, onboarding, and orientation programs to enhance driver skills, safety awareness, customer service, and successful integration into DTC.Conduct driver performance assessments and develop performance management frameworks, including KPIs and improvement plans, to identify skill gaps and support continuous development.Develop and oversee incentive and recognition programs to motivate drivers and enhance performance.Organize workshops, seminars, and refresher courses to keep drivers updated on industry best practices and new technologies.Ensure training facilities, materials, and methodologies are up to date and meet industry standards.Lead the implementation of technological advancements in driver training, including the development of a Learning Management System (LMS), Virtual Reality (VR) modules, AI-driven analytics, gamified learning, and simulation platforms, to enhance training impact and ensure future readiness.The responsibilities are not limited to the above and may include additional tasks/projects as assigned by the line manager.Job RequirementsEducation:Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Behavioural Sciences, or a related field is required.Master’s degree in Psychology, or Counselling is preferred.Experience:Minimum 8 years of experience in applying psychology within workplace or organizational settings, preferably in transportation, occupational health, or employee well-being is required.Experience in conducting research studies, designing training/wellness programs, and providing counseling support with an exposure to driver behavior analysis, stress management, and workforce retention initiatives is a plus.Preferred Certifications:Professional certification or license in Counseling, Clinical, or Occupational Psychology is preferred.Additional certifications in Stress Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or Employee Wellness Programs is a plus.
