Manager - Exports and Operations (China)

For a client, we are currently looking for a Manager - Exports and Operations (China) to be based in Shanghai.

Location: Shanghai, ChinaReports to: General ManagerType: Full-time, Hybrid ( Home/ Office)Role purposeLead the Resin's China entity as the senior on-the-ground representative of the ownersmanaging the day-to-day running of the office, driving the export business, and safeguarding the company's interests, compliance, and relationships in China.

Nurture the network to Chemical and petrochemical local producers and have a proactive approach with the management in HQ.Office management Act as the owners' representative in China, exercising sound judgment and protecting thecompany's commercial, legal, and reputational interests. Manage the day-to-day operations of the office — staff, administration, budgets, suppliers, and service providers — ensuring smooth and efficient running. Represent the company before customers, partners, banks, authorities, and freight/logisticsproviders. Report regularly to the owners on performance, risks, opportunities, and local developments. Strict monitoring of legal updates and liaising with the legal department in HQ Support Legal Tax insurance and finance department. Prepare the ground for expansion and hiring and propose business plans accordinglyExport & commercial management Own the end-to-end export process: order handling, pricing, contracts, documentation, and on-time delivery to international markets. Ensure compliance with Chinese customs, export licensing, foreign-exchange settlement, andhazardous-goods regulations. Coordinate logistics and freight forwarders; negotiate shipping terms, Incoterms, and freightcosts. Develop customers, agents, and distributors, and pursue new export and sourcing opportunities. Liaise with the group's other entities (UAE, Lebanon, KSA) and headquarters on supply, pricing,and planning.Qualifications & skills Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business, Chemistry, or a related field; postgraduatequalification a plus. [8–12]+ years' experience in international trade or commercial management, including aproven senior/managerial role — ideally in chemicals, resins, coatings, or a related industrialsector. Demonstrated ability to run an office/entity autonomously and act with the discretion expected of an owner's representative. Strong knowledge of China trade, customs, and compliance; solid commercial and financialacumen. Fluent Mandarin and professional English; additional languages a plus. Trustworthy, self-directed, and culturally adept, with strong leadership and negotiation skills.
