Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob PurposeThe Manager, Facilities Management is responsible for managing the activities of the FM Operations that provide Soft Services, operations, maintenance, and utilities services as well as the provision of hard services to all Khalifa University campuses.Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesContribute to the development of the Department's strategy, as well as annual business plans. Contribute to the development of the Department's policies and procedures, in line with the overall business objectives of the University, ensuring they promote leading practices and excellence.Contribute to the development and management of the Department’s budgets and report back on a timely basis to ensure that divergences are addressed promptlyManage and supervise the FM services including developing / revising policies and procedures for managing such services.Initiate and carry out projects to deliver enhanced or improved services/products, improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costsSelect and recommend appropriate suppliers as well as negotiate with suppliers for related services in coordination with the Contracts Unit for preparation / renewal of contract.Evaluate supplier performance and provide them with feedback to avoid any discrepancies.Monitor the FM Operations budget expenditures against approved budgets as well as approving purchases within the authorized limits.Manage and supervise activities of the operations towards the provision of hard support services including developing / revising policies and procedures for managing such services.Develop and perform corrective and general maintenance procedures for HVAC system, components and equipment.Ensure that campus services are provided in compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and contractual obligations and standards.Oversee of the in-house help desk support service, which ensures prescribed service.Monitor planned and reactive attendance by contractors, to all major plant and equipment, as required for maintaining business continuityReview reports of all contractors, certifications, and acts towards improvement of services.Ensure adherence to the University's information security policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordinglyEnsure coordination with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as and when neededDemonstrate a strong commitment and practice to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.Perform any other tasks assigned by Line ManagerProvide coaching, guidance and mentoring as required to enhance the internal capabilities of the team and ensure the achievement of established objectives and plans.Recommend appropriate training courses as per the pre-determined training needs, evaluate their effectiveness, and monitor their results.Carry out performance appraisals for subordinates according to planned schedules and recommend necessary actions as per the applied practices.Conduct periodic meetings with subordinates to ensure that priorities are clear and workflow is running smoothly.Follow-up on employees' administrative affairs such as vacations, leaves and other administrative and related affairsQualifications & ExperienceA Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or Engineering related field.A minimum 8 to 10 years of experience.
