Role Summary:The Project Manager is responsible for leading low-to-medium complexity projects aimed at enhancing plant efficiency, quality, and safety. This role ensures that continuous improvement initiatives are executed within the defined scope, timeline, and budget. The Project Manager works closely with site teams and senior PMs to implement standardized methods and digital tools on the shop floor.Roles and Responsibilities:Drive the day-to-day progress of project tasks, ensuring all internal milestones are met.Assist Senior PMs by managing specific work packages within major overhauls or new installations.Act as a bridge between plant-level staff and the SME communities (Process, Maintenance, Logistics) to ensure technical standards are followedServe as the "advocate" for OEx policies, ensuring that new projects are fully integrated into the standard operations environmentAct as the primary point of contact for project teams and leadership, facilitating gate approvals and resolving cross-departmental priority conflicts.Prepare regular status updates and reports for the Director of OEx, highlighting any potential risks or budget variances.Manage small-to-medium project budgets, ensuring all procurement, expenditures and timeline stay within the approved limitsEnsure all project documentation (plans, notes, lessons learned) is accurately maintained in the central OEx library.Organize and lead project team meetings, ensuring clear communication of goals and responsibilities.Environmental: Exposure to fugitive dust, scale particles, metal filings, and oil, solvent, lubricant, and coolantsEnvironmental: Frequent transit between climate-controlled control rooms and the extreme heat of the shop floorPhysical/Env: Ability to wear heavy PPE, including respirators, for extended periodsPhysical/Env: Prolonged use of computers (70%+ time)Environmental: Working on potentially slippery floorsPhysical/Env: Manual handling of tools (gauging or other type of tools)Physical: Visual acuity (corrected or uncorrected) to identify microscopic surface defects or thread gallingQualification and Education:Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, Mechanic Engineering or Production Engineer, Electrical Engineer and preferred MBA or master’s degree in project managementExperience:Minimum 8 years in industrial project management or engineering leadership within heavy industry (Steel, Oil & Gas).Skills:Technical reference knowledge in his expertise areaProject ManagementLeadershipRisk assessmentEffectiveness communicationConceptual Lean methodology know howFundamental CI tools and methodology know howMS Office and ERP
