The role drives end-to-end ownership of industry engagement, student career development, and programme performance.The incumbent will serve as the primary liaison between the school and the legal industry, ensuring that students gain high-quality, practice-ready experience while building a robust recruiter network aligned with the school’s reputation for academic excellence.Job SpecificationPosition Title: Manager - Industry Interface & Career AdvancementReporting To: Head, Industry Interface & Career AdvancementArea of Specialization: Legal Careers, Career Advancement, Industry Relations & Career CounsellingKey Responsibilities1. Strategy & Program DevelopmentExecute and implement the annual internship strategy aligned with the school’s academic and placement goalsIdentify and establish internship goals, targets, and timelines each academic yearFormulate workflows and SOPs for end-to-end internship processesDevise key performance metrics to monitor program effectiveness and report outcomes to senior leadership2. Recruiter Outreach & EngagementIdentify, build, and maintain relationships with international organizations, law firms, corporate legal teams, judiciary bodies, NGOs, and policy organizations as internship hostsConduct outreach campaigns to onboard new recruiters and retain existing partnersNegotiate internship agreements, stipend structures, and role definitions with employer partnersFacilitate recruiter presentations, campus visits, and information sessions for students3. Student Outreach & CounsellingCounsel students on internship opportunities, career pathways, application strategies, and professional conduct expectationsGuide students through the internship application lifecycle, including document preparation, interview readiness, and onboardingAddress and resolve student concerns related to internship placements, workplace issues, and post-internship evaluationsMaintain updated records of student internship history, feedback, and performance outcomes4. Student Training & Skill DevelopmentExecute and deliver pre-internship training modules covering professional skills, legal drafting, research techniques, and workplace etiquetteCollaborate with faculty and industry professionals to conduct workshops, mock interviews, and networking eventsEvaluate training effectiveness and update curriculum based on industry feedback and student outcomes5. Performance Metrics & ReportingDefine, track, and report KPIs such as internship conversion rates, recruiter satisfaction scores, and student placement statisticsPrepare periodic reports and presentations for the office on program performanceBenchmark internship outcomes against peer law schools and recommend program improvements.QualificationEssential: LL.B. (Graduate in Law) from a recognized universityPreferred: Master’s Degree (Preferably in Law)Experience8–10 years in career counselling, legal recruitment, law school placement, or related field.Prerequisite KnowledgeUnderstanding of the legal industry landscape – international organizations, law firms, in-house counsel, judiciary, and public interest lawFamiliarity with careers, internship & placement operations in educational institutionsProficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Experience with placement management tools preferredKey Skills & CompetenciesStrategic planning and program managementStakeholder management – students, faculty, and external recruitersStrong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsData-driven mindset: ability to define, track, and interpret KPIsStudent counselling and mentoring abilityTraining design and facilitationWillingness to travel for recruiter outreach, industry events, and inter-campus coordination.
