About Huru:Huru is a UAE-based fintech licensed by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), building accessible financial products and payment solutions for consumers and businesses.As we continue to scale within a highly regulated environment, we are looking for an experienced Audit Manager to strengthen our governance, risk management and internal control environment.Role OverviewThe Audit Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing Huru's risk-based Internal Audit framework, providing independent and objective assurance over the effectiveness of the Company's governance, risk management and internal controls.The role will work closely with Senior Management, the Board/Board Committees, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Technology, Operations and other business functions while maintaining the independence required of the Internal Audit function.The successful candidate should have strong experience within a CBUAE-regulated financial institution, payments company or fintech, with a sound understanding of regulatory expectations and the risks associated with digital financial services.Key ResponsibilitiesInternal Audit Framework & PlanningDevelop, implement and maintain Huru's Internal Audit framework, policies, procedures and methodology.Establish a comprehensive, risk-based annual and multi-year Internal Audit Plan.Conduct periodic enterprise-wide audit risk assessments to identify emerging and material areas of risk.Ensure appropriate audit coverage across financial, operational, regulatory, technology and governance risks.Present audit plans, significant findings and progress updates to Senior Management and relevant Board/Board Committees.Audit ExecutionPlan and execute end-to-end audits across areas including:Finance and financial controlsRegulatory complianceAML/CFTKYC/KYBSanctions and screening controlsPayment operationsCustomer funds and safeguardingReconciliations and settlementFraud risk and controlsOperational processesInformation TechnologyCybersecurityCloud environmentsData governanceBusiness continuity and disaster recoveryThird-party and outsourcing arrangementsEvaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and identify control weaknesses, process gaps and areas of non-compliance.Ensure audit findings are supported by appropriate evidence and clearly articulate the risk, root cause, impact and recommended corrective action.Regulatory & GovernanceEnsure the Internal Audit function operates in accordance with applicable CBUAE regulatory requirements and recognised professional Internal Audit standards.Assess the Company's compliance with applicable regulatory obligations, internal policies and governance frameworks.Support CBUAE examinations, regulatory inspections and information requests relating to Internal Audit.Monitor regulatory developments and incorporate relevant changes into the audit universe and audit programme.Provide independent assurance to Senior Management and the Board regarding the effectiveness of the Company's internal control environment.Audit Findings & RemediationPrepare clear and comprehensive Internal Audit reports highlighting findings, risk ratings, root causes and agreed management actions.Maintain a centralised audit findings and remediation tracker.Agree appropriate remediation timelines and accountable owners with Management.Follow up on outstanding findings and independently validate closure.Escalate overdue or significant unresolved findings to Senior Management and the relevant Board/Board Committee.Identify recurring control deficiencies and systemic issues across the organisation.Stakeholder ManagementBuild effective working relationships across Compliance, Risk, Finance, Operations, Technology, Information Security, Product and other business functions while maintaining Internal Audit's independence.Challenge Management constructively where controls or remediation actions are inadequate.Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory reviewers where required.Provide advisory input on significant new products, systems and processes without assuming management responsibility or compromising audit independence.What We're Looking ForApproximately 7–10 years of relevant Internal Audit experience, preferably within banking, payments, fintech or another regulated financial-services environment.Strong preference for experience within a CBUAE-regulated institution.Demonstrated experience conducting risk-based Internal Audits independently.Strong understanding of governance, risk management and internal control frameworks.Experience auditing regulated areas such as AML/CFT, payments, safeguarding, operational risk and technology.Good understanding of technology, cybersecurity and third-party risks relevant to digital financial services.Experience interacting with senior management, Board-level stakeholders, external auditors and regulators.Strong report-writing, analytical and stakeholder-management capabilities.Ability to independently challenge business and control functions while maintaining constructive working relationships.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management or a related discipline.Professional qualifications such as CIA, CISA, CPA, ACCA, CA or CRMA are strongly preferred.Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who can operate beyond a traditional checklist-based audit role.The ideal candidate understands how a fast-growing fintech operates, can identify where the real risks sit, is comfortable challenging senior stakeholders, and can build a robust Internal Audit function that meets both CBUAE regulatory expectations and the commercial realities of a scaling payments business.
