Manager of Facilities Operations

St. Joseph’s Health Centre of Sudbury is seeking an experienced and collaborative Manager of Facilities Operations to join our Corporate Services team. Reporting to the Director of Planning and Facilities, the Manager provides corporate operational leadership and oversight for facilities and support services across St. Joseph’s Health Centre and its five operating entities, including Environmental Services/Housekeeping, Laundry, Food Services, Building Maintenance, and related facility operations.This is an opportunity to make a meaningful organizational impact by strengthening facilities and support services across multiple healthcare and long-term care environments while working with dedicated leaders and teams committed to safe, high-quality care and service.Key Responsibilities

• Provide corporate leadership and oversight for facilities and support services across all operating entities.
• Work with site-based leaders to establish consistent operational standards, practices, and expectations.
• Monitor service quality, efficiency and performance through operational reviews, site inspections, key performance indicators, and service standards.
• Identify operational risks, deficiencies and service gaps and ensure appropriate follow-up and resolution.
• Provide coaching, advice, and support to site leaders to improve operational performance and service delivery.
• Ensure facilities and operations comply with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, health and safety standards, fire and accessibility codes, and organizational policies.
• Support the development and monitoring of operating and capital budgets, including budgets exceeding $1 million across the portfolio.
• Support the organization's 10-year capital plan, including facility, equipment, and infrastructure priorities.
• Oversee space planning, office reconfigurations, relocations, and asset tracking.
• Identify opportunities to maximize available funding for facility maintenance and capital needs.
• Promote standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement across sites.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners, including government and regulatory organizations, on facilities and operational matters.
• Support the development and onboarding of new operations and services.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately nine direct reports.Qualifications
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Management or a related discipline.
• Three to five years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in healthcare, long-term care, public sector, or a similarly regulated environment.
• Demonstrated experience in facilities management, building operations or related support services.
• Experience with budgeting, capital planning, regulatory compliance, and operational improvement.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and collaborate with diverse teams and interested parties.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently in a complex operational environment.
