Their work has significant impact across education, workforce development and economic growth.About the RoleAs the Manager, Physics Workforce, you will support the development of a robust evidence base around workforce needs, skills shortages and future talent requirements. You will use research, stakeholder intelligence and data analysis to identify key challenges and opportunities, translating complex information into compelling insights that influence decision-makers.You will be joining a team that was established at the end of 2025 and is continuing to evolve. This creates an excellent opportunity to contribute to team culture, processes and ways of working whilst taking ownership of strategically important projects.The role includes line management responsibility for a Project Officer and offers the chance to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including policymakers, employers, education providers and sector leaders.Key ResponsibilitiesLead research activity focused on workforce needs, skills shortages and talent developmentBuild and maintain a strong evidence base that informs policy, strategy and organisational prioritiesAnalyse quantitative and qualitative data and convert findings into engaging, accessible narrativesProduce research reports, insights, thought leadership content and briefing materialsSupport advocacy activities by providing evidence and insights to influence decision-makersDevelop relationships with stakeholders across education, skills, business and policy sectorsIdentify emerging workforce trends and opportunitiesManage and develop a Project OfficerContribute to business planning, project delivery and continuous improvement initiativesSupport cross-organisational collaboration to maximise impact and outcomesSkills / Experience RequiredStrong understanding of the workforce, skills and higher education ecosystemKnowledge of educational pathways, workforce development issues and skills policyExperience using data, research and stakeholder insight to inform decision-makingAbility to translate complex data and evidence into compelling stories and recommendationsExcellent written, verbal and presentation skillsStrong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building experienceStrategic thinking skills with the ability to identify solutions and opportunitiesExperience managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneouslyA genuine interest in workforce development, skills policy and evidence-led decision making.To ApplyPlease submit your cover letter and CV outlining your relevant experience and interest in this opportunityInterview ProcessInterviews will take place online on 16th September 2026 and will consist of:A presentation / taskCompetency-based and behavioural interview questionsThere is one interview stage only.Deadline Monday 7th September 2026, 9am
