- Establishes, improves, and maintains project management standards, processes, tools, templates, and governance routines across the organization
- Manages the project intake, prioritization, and portfolio review process to ensure projects align with business objectives, resource capacity, and strategic priorities
- Provides leadership with clear visibility to project health, milestones, risks, dependencies, budget status, and required decisions
- Partners with functional leaders and project owners to define project scope, success criteria, schedules, resource plans, and delivery expectations
- Tracks portfolio performance and drives timely escalation of issues, risks, resource constraints, and schedule or budget variances
- Facilitates governance meetings, steering committee updates, stage gate reviews, and executive reporting to support informed decision-making
- Develops and maintains project documentation, dashboards, status reports, action logs, risk registers, and lessons learned
- Supports project managers and cross-functional teams with planning, execution discipline, issue resolution, and use of standard project management practices
- Drives continuous improvement in project delivery capability, including process maturity, reporting quality, accountability, and benefits tracking
- Ensures stakeholders remain aligned on priorities, ownership, timing, risks, and expected business outcomes throughout the project lifecycleLEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Accountable for operating the project management office function and supporting consistent delivery across multiple projects and initiatives
- Provides portfolio-level coordination, reporting, governance, and escalation support to leadership and project stakeholders
- Works independently with broad guidance and is expected to exercise sound business judgment, prioritization, and follow-through
- Influences cross-functional teams without direct authority by creating clarity, structure, accountability, and decision visibility
- Mentors project managers, project owners, and team members on project management standards, tools, reporting, and governance practicesKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong understanding of project management methods, PMO governance, portfolio reporting, risk management, and resource planning
- Ability to translate project details into clear executive-level updates, decisions, risks, and business implications
- Excellent planning, organization, follow-up, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional work, influence teams, and drive accountability without direct reporting authority
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use project data, dashboards, and performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Proficiency with project management and productivity tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, or similar systems
- Professional presence and ability to represent the company effectively with internal stakeholders, customers, and business partnersEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or related field and 5+ years of project management, PMO, operations, or cross-functional leadership experience; or
- Equivalent experience leading complex projects, portfolio coordination, governance routines, or business transformation initiatives
- PMP, CAPM, PgMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar project management certification preferred
