With access to an international supply portfolio of over 50 million carbon credits spanning nature-based solutions, technological removals, and clean energy projects, Oxana bridges institutional supply, digital liquidity, and real-world environmental impact.Role OverviewOxana Networks is seeking a disciplined, high-execution Manager/Senior Manager, Carbon Trading to manage day-to-day screen execution, liquidity management, and OTC monetization across our multi-million carbon credit portfolio.In this market-facing role, you will be the primary operator on electronic trading venues as well as bilateral OTC channels. You will be responsible for price discovery, bid-ask optimization, inventory yield management, and executing sales strategies for credits generated internally by our Origination & Project Delivery team as well as third-party holdings.Key Responsibilities1. Screen Execution & Exchange TradingExchange Desk Management: Execute spot, forward, and standardized contract trades on carbon credits and other environmental assets trading exchanges.Order Book Optimization: Active management of order books, bid-ask spreads, order routing, and execution timing to minimize price slippage and maximize net margin.Exchange Relationship Management: Maintain operational interfaces with exchange clearing houses, registry settlement teams, and broker desks.2. OTC Monetization & Market MakingBilateral & OTC Sales: Structure and execute over-the-counter (OTC) spot and forward transactions with institutional counterparties, corporate sustainability buyers, commodity desks, and brokers.Inventory Monetization: Develop tailored liquidation schedules for Oxana’s 50M+ carbon credit inventory across various vintages, standards (Verra, Gold Standard, ACR, CAR, Cercarbono, etc.), and project categories (ARR, IFM, REDD+, Biochar, Tech Removals).RFQs & Off-Take Execution: Respond to inbound RFQs (Requests for Quotes) and structure custom off-take bundles for corporate buyers seeking specific credit attributes or co-benefits.3. Portfolio Risk & Inventory ManagementPosition & Risk Control: Monitor daily desk positions, mark-to-market (MtM) valuations, VAR (Value at Risk), inventory age/vintage exposure, and counterparty credit risks.Yield Optimization: Balance spot liquidity against forward delivery obligations, optimizing holding costs, registry transfer friction, and capital efficiency.Close Coordination with Origination: Partner with the Head of Carbon Origination & Project Delivery to provide real-time market feedback, pricing benchmarks, and buyer demand dynamics to inform future supply sourcing.4. Market Intelligence & Quantitative AnalyticsBenchmark Tracking: Track daily pricing indexes and benchmarks (S&P Platts, OPIS, Quantum Commodity Intelligence) to identify cross-market arbitrage and pricing disparities.Market Insights: Provide regular briefings to executive leadership on liquidity trends, Article 6 updates, ICVCM/CCP premium spreads, and buyer sentiment.Qualifications & RequirementsExperience: 3+ years of active trading experience in environmental commodities, voluntary carbon credits, compliance carbon (EUA, CCA), or physical energy/commodity trading desks.Screen Execution Track Record: Hands-on experience trading on Xpansiv CBL, CIX, ICE, or equivalent electronic commodity order books.Market Network: Existing contacts across carbon brokerage desks, institutional traders, market makers, and corporate sustainability procurement teams.Quantitative & Analytical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel/Python for desk analytics, position tracking, and price curve construction.Risk Discipline: Deep understanding of commodity risk management, counterparty risk, margin requirements, and settlement mechanics.Preferred QualificationsUnderstanding of digital asset settlement rails, carbon credit tokenization, or dMRV (Digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) workflows.Familiarity with voluntary registry architectures (Verra Registry, Gold Standard Impact Registry, ACR, CAR, etc.).Degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, or Environmental Economics.What We OfferCompetitive base salary with an aggressive, performance-linked trading commission and desk bonus structure.Stock option package in Oxana Networks.Comprehensive health, vision, and dental benefits.The opportunity to shape trading operations at a fast-growing climate technology company.Fully remote or hybrid work schedule in Toronto's vibrant innovation ecosystem.
