Job Purpose To ensure that the Bank's documents, contracts, products, policies, processes and marketing materials comply with Sharia and with the resolutions, fatwas, regulations and standards of the ISSC and CBUAE-HSA. The role also supports the Head of the Unit in monitoring Sharia compliance across the Bank, its subsidiaries and affiliates, and in promoting a Sharia compliance culture.Key AccountabilitiesRegulatory Compliance and MonitoringEnsure compliance with UAE Federal Law No. 14 of 2018, ISSC and CBUAE-HSA requirements, the Sharia Governance Framework and AAOIFI Sharia Standards.Support the Head of the Unit in monitoring the Sharia compliance of the Bank's businesses and activities.Analyze new HSA circulars and resolutions, prepare gap reports (obligation, stakeholders, current status, action plan, remedial action, deadline) and share them with the ISSC and Senior Management.Follow up with stakeholders to close gaps, with clear action plans that address root causes and name the responsible party.Sharia Review and DocumentationSupervise the Sharia review of documents, contracts, products, manuals, marketing materials, policies, procedures and processes.Help develop the annual review plan for approval by the ISSC and BRCGC.Develop and regularly update internal checklists, processes and policies for Sharia review.Reviews and SubsidiariesSupervise reviews and field visits, evaluate Sharia controls, issue reports and monitor remedial actions.Oversee Sharia compliance reviews of subsidiaries and affiliates and integrate their reports into the Bank's overall report.Escalation and ReportingEscalate Sharia non-compliance to the ISSC, Senior Management and BRCGC in a timely manner.Recommend remedial actions and control improvements to reduce Sharia non-compliance risk.Prepare the periodic Sharia compliance report for ISSC review, then share the approved report with Senior Management, the GCEO and relevant parties.Culture and AwarenessPromote a Sharia compliance culture and improve staff awareness and skills across the Group.OtherCarry out any other tasks assigned by the Head of Sharia Compliance or the Head of Internal Sharia Control.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Islamic Studies, Sharia, Islamic Finance, Law or a related field (master's preferred).7 to 10 years in Sharia compliance, Sharia audit or Islamic banking, including supervisory experience.Preferred certifications: CIPA, CSAA or other AAOIFI certifications.Fluent in Arabic and English.Key SkillsStrong knowledge of Islamic finance contracts and AAOIFI standardsKnowledge of UAE regulatory and Sharia governance frameworksAnalytical and gap analysis skillsReport writing and document reviewStakeholder management and team leadership
