Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager Total Rewards to lead our organization's Total Rewards strategy. This role is pivotal in aligning remuneration, benefits, recognition, performance, and wellbeing initiatives with our business strategy, regulatory requirements, and talent needs. As a key member of the Human Capital team, you will ensure competitive, equitable, and cost-effective reward practices that attract, motivate, and retain critical skills while fostering a high-performance and compliance-driven culture.ResponsibilitiesAs the Senior Manager Total Rewards, your key responsibilities will include:ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a multi-year Total Rewards strategy aligned with organizational goals, regulatory changes, and market trends.Establish governance frameworks, policies, and principles for remuneration and benefits.Ensure compliance with labor legislation, regulatory expectations, and tax requirements.Lead annual remuneration committee submissions and board presentations.Oversee job evaluation, grading, and architecture frameworks for specialized talent.Design competitive salary structures and pay scales using local and global benchmarks.Conduct regular market benchmarking and participate in reward surveys.Design and manage Short-Term Incentive (STI) schemes aligned with performance metrics.Develop recognition programs to drive innovation, collaboration, and customer-centricity.Optimize benefits offerings, including medical aid, retirement funds, and wellbeing initiatives.Partner with providers to enhance employee financial and mental wellbeing.Support the development of performance management approaches that reinforce accountability and growth.Integrate performance outcomes with pay decisions and incentives.Drive reward analytics and scenario planning to support executive decision-making.Produce insights on pay equity, turnover costs, and critical skills shortages.Oversee payroll governance, accuracy, and statutory compliance.Implement controls and system improvements to mitigate risks.Partner with executives and committees on reward strategies and proposals.Lead cross-functional reward projects and drive communication to improve transparency.Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field.8–12 years of experience in Reward/Remuneration roles.Strong expertise in job grading, pay structures, and incentive design.Postgraduate qualification in HR, Reward, Finance, or an MBA.Reward certification (e.g., SARA Reward Specialist or Global Remuneration Professional).Experience in the financial services, fintech, or payments sector.Proven experience presenting to Remuneration Committees or Boards.Deep knowledge of Total Rewards, job evaluation methodologies, and remuneration practices.Advanced analytics and financial modeling capabilities.Strong understanding of South African reward legislation and governance.Strategic leadership and executive-level presentation skills.Operational excellence with a focus on governance, systems, and process improvement.If you have not heard from us in two weeks please consider your application unsuccessful.
