Join Our Team: Manager Training Centre and Academy at EtihadWEWe are seeking a talented and experienced Manager Training Centre and Academy. In this key role, you will lead, manage, and continuously improve all operational and technical training activities across EtihadWE to ensure employees and trainees have the required technical knowledge, practical skills, safety awareness, and job competencies to perform their roles effectively and safely. The role is responsible for developing and implementing competency-based technical training frameworks, operational training programs, structured On-the-Job Training (OJT), technical assessments, and certification requirements in alignment with EtihadWE operational needs, business priorities, HSEQ requirements, and the Technical Academy strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Operational & Technical Training StrategyDevelop and implement annual operational and technical training plans, manage Technical Academy workshop procedures and maintenance, address competency gaps through targeted training, and support the EtihadWE Technical Academy strategy to enhance workforce readiness, technical capabilities, succession planning, Emiratization, and business continuity.Technical Training Program DevelopmentLead the development and implementation of competency-based technical and operational training programs aligned with job roles, procedures, and standards. Establish structured learning pathways combining classroom, practical, simulation, OJT, and assessments, while continuously improving programs and ensuring training materials remain accurate and up to date.Competency Management & OJTDevelop and maintain technical competency frameworks and structure OJT programs with clear role-based requirements, practical assessments, and competency sign-offs. Coordinate qualified trainers and assessors, monitor employee progress, and ensure competency is confirmed only after successful completion of theoretical and practical assessmentsTechnical Assessment & CertificationDevelop and maintain standardized competency assessment methods, tools, and certification requirements aligned with operational standards. Support assessor development, coordinate external certifications, and ensure all technical licenses, certificates, and mandatory qualifications remain valid and up to date.Training Delivery & DeploymentManage and coordinate the delivery of operational and technical training in line with the approved annual plan, ensuring effective collaboration with trainers, external providers, and planning teams. Maintain training facilities and resources, monitor training quality, and support training requirements for new projects, assets, systems, and technologies.Safety & ComplianceEnsure all operational and technical training complies with EtihadWE HSEQ policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Integrate safety into training and competency assessments, coordinate with HSEQ, ensure safe practical training activities, and maintain accurate records to support audits and compliance.Training Needs AnalysisCollaborate with business units to identify technical competency gaps through structured training needs analysis (TNA). Evaluate performance data, incidents, audits, and operational requirements to recommend appropriate development interventions and prioritize training based on safety, operational risks, business impact, and strategic importance.Technical Academy & Training FacilitiesSupport the development and enhancement of the Technical Academy by establishing modern training facilities, laboratories, simulators, and workshops. Coordinate equipment procurement, installation, and maintenance, promote innovative digital and VR/AR learning solutions, and support external accreditation and certification of training facilities and programsNational Development & Technical Trainee ProgramsSupport national development initiatives, including Graduate Trainee, RUWAD, TFW, and MASAR, by establishing structured technical development plans. Coordinate classroom training, OJT, supervision, assessments, and competency verification while ensuring effective trainee placement, rotation, coaching, and career development.External Training Providers & Technical PartnersDevelop technical training specifications and evaluate external training providers to ensure compliance with technical, safety, and quality standards. Monitor provider performance, recommend improvements, and establish partnerships with technical institutes, manufacturers, universities, accreditation bodies, and specialized training organizationsTraining Effectiveness & QualityMonitor and evaluate technical training performance through attendance, assessments, feedback, and effectiveness indicators. Conduct quality reviews and audits, identify areas for improvement, and recommend program enhancements to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with business needs.Team LeadershipLead and develop the technical training team by setting clear objectives, KPIs, and performance expectations. Strengthening team capabilities through coaching and professional development, promote collaboration, safety, accountability, and innovation, and identify future staffing needs to support Technical Academy growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Education, Vocational Education, Learning & Development, or another relevant technical discipline.Recognized qualifications in training, assessment, verification, or competency management.Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in operational, engineering, technical training, competency development, or vocational training.Minimum 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.Strong experience in technical training environments within utilities, energy, power generation, water, manufacturing, industrial operations, or similar sectors.Demonstrated experience developing competency-based technical training programs and workplace OJT/assessment systems.Experience managing technical trainers, SMEs, training providers, and operational stakeholders.Experience working with technical procedures, SOPs, equipment, engineering documentation, and safety requirements.Experience supporting technical academies or training centers is highly desirable.Why Join EtihadWE?At EtihadWE, we’re shaping the future of the utilities sector while fostering an inclusive and innovative work environment.
