Managing DirectorJob SummaryThe Managing Director will provide strategic leadership and overall operational responsibility for the successful delivery of mega-scale, multi-billion-dollar construction and infrastructure projects. The role is accountable for business growth, project execution, financial performance, stakeholder management, and organizational excellence across complex project portfolios.The ideal candidate will be a highly accomplished construction executive with extensive experience leading landmark developments within the civil construction sector, including Mixed-Use Developments, High-Rise Towers, Hotels & Hospitality Projects, Infrastructure Projects, and Island Construction Developments.The Managing Director will drive business strategy, oversee project delivery teams, and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, government authorities, and key stakeholders while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to world-class quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDevelop and execute business strategies aligned with corporate objectives and growth plans.Provide executive leadership across all project and business operations.Establish organizational goals, performance indicators, and operational excellence initiatives.Drive sustainable business growth and profitability.Project Delivery & OperationsOversee the successful delivery of multiple mega-scale projects from inception through completion.Ensure projects achieve schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client satisfaction targets.Direct engineering, construction, commercial, procurement, project controls, HSE, and QA/QC functions.Review and approve project execution plans, procurement strategies, and resource allocation plans.Commercial & Financial ManagementMaintain full accountability for project and business financial performance.Lead budget planning, forecasting, cash flow management, and profitability improvement initiatives.Oversee major contractual negotiations and commercial agreements.Ensure effective claims management and risk mitigation strategies.Stakeholder ManagementAct as the key representative with clients, consultants, government authorities, investors, and strategic partners.Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships with all stakeholders.Lead high-level negotiations and strategic business discussions.Governance, Risk & ComplianceEnsure compliance with all contractual, legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.Oversee enterprise risk management and business continuity planning.Promote a culture of safety, quality, ethics, and accountability throughout the organization.Leadership & Talent DevelopmentBuild, mentor, and develop high-performing leadership teams.Foster a performance-driven culture that promotes innovation and continuous improvement.Drive succession planning and leadership development initiatives.Candidate RequirementsMandatory QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Mandatory).Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Engineering Management, Construction Management, or related discipline is highly preferred.Minimum 20+ years of experience within the construction and contracting industry.Minimum 10+ years in executive leadership positions.Demonstrated success in delivering mega-scale, multi-billion-dollar construction projects.Experience managing large multidisciplinary teams and complex organizational structures.Strong expertise in one or more of the following sectors:Mixed-Use DevelopmentsHigh-Rise TowersHotels & Hospitality ProjectsInfrastructure ProjectsIsland Construction / Land Reclamation ProjectsMandatoryFluent Arabic (Written & Spoken)Fluent English (Written & Spoken)The candidate must be capable of representing the organization at executive, commercial, governmental, and stakeholder levels in both languages.Key CompetenciesStrategic LeadershipBusiness Growth & DevelopmentMega Project DeliveryCorporate GovernanceCommercial AcumenProfit & Loss ManagementContract ManagementRisk ManagementStakeholder EngagementExecutive Decision MakingChange ManagementFinancial Planning & ControlOrganizational DevelopmentNegotiation & InfluencePerformance ManagementSuccess ProfileThe successful candidate will be a visionary business leader with a proven track record of delivering iconic, multi-billion-dollar projects, driving organizational growth, and leading large-scale civil construction operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and commercial performance.
