Dedicated teams operate in each practice, led by a leadership group with deep operational experience across industries, business growth stages and market cycles and with an expansive set of global corporate relationships.Consello's investment business, Consello Capital, identifies high-potential mid-market companies and invests capital and expertise to transform their growth.Position Overview:Consello is seeking a Managing Director, Geopolitics to serve as a trusted adviser to C-suite executives, boards and other senior decision-makers on the business implications of geopolitical, economic and policy developments. The successful candidate will be a geopolitical generalist with strong judgment, intellectual range and the ability to translate complex international developments into clear, forward-looking and actionable advice. Relevant experience may include areas such as US foreign policy, US–China relations, international trade, economic security, sanctions, political economy or other geopolitical issues affecting global business.Key Responsibilities:· Serve as a trusted adviser to C-suite executives and boards on geopolitical risks, opportunities and strategic implications.· Lead senior client relationships and oversee complex, politically sensitive advisory engagements.· Deliver concise, authoritative briefings and written analysis for senior business audiences.· Translate political, regulatory, economic and security developments into implications for corporate strategy, investment, transactions, operations, supply chains and reputation.· Set and uphold Consello’s standards for geopolitical analysis, forecasting and senior-client advice.· Build and maintain senior relationships across government, business, academia and the policy community.· Collaborate across Consello’s advisory practices and contribute to thought leadership, events and media commentary.Role Specifics:· This position reports into Consello’s senior advisory leadership.· Requires close collaboration with Consello’s advisory practices and Partner group to connect geopolitical insight to client strategy across sectors.· Expect daily interaction with C-suite executives, boards and senior policymakers, demanding sound judgment, discretion and the ability to adapt quickly to fast-moving developments.Qualifications:· Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in consulting, government, a think tank, international business, financial services, geopolitical-risk advisory or a related field.· Demonstrated experience advising C-suite executives, boards, senior policymakers or comparable decision-makers.· Broad expertise in international affairs, geopolitics, political economy or public policy, with depth in one or more relevant areas.· Experience advising multinational organizations on decisions spanning multiple markets, stakeholders and business functions.· Proven ability to connect geopolitical developments to business strategy and decision-making.· Experience leading complex advisory engagements and multidisciplinary teams.· An established senior network across government, business or the policy community.· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, executive presence, judgment and discretion.· Media, public-speaking or published thought-leadership experience.· Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree is preferred.· Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.· Based in New York or Washington, DC.Preferred:· Experience across both public- and private-sector environments.· Professional proficiency in one or more languages in addition to English.Compensation: $300,000 starting base salary, plus annual discretionary bonus.EEO Statement: Consello is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing a workplace free from discrimination.
