Apply & track with Apply EdgePenn Equipment is a heavy equipment repair/job shop of which we are hiring for a manual machinist with our machine shop department. The machine shop foreman would work closely with the hydraulic and welding department to ensure jobs meet the required timelines and quality standards. Must have a minimum of 5 years experience, pay is determined by experience.ResponsibilitiesUse of mills, lathes, horizontal boring mills and VTLs to repair industrial equipment and fabricate components out of raw materials from drawingsAble to determine the machining process/sequence for different jobs and determine the correct tooling to useAble to setup and indicate workpieces accuratelyMachine internal and external threadsAble to use different chucks, mandrels, fixtures, jigs, etc.Familiarity with metallurgy and different machining procedures for different materialsDisassembly of hydraulic/pneumatic components belonging to a wide range of heavy equipment including cylinders, pumps, valvesBuilding hydraulic hoses (NPT, JIC, ORFS, BSP, CAT flanges)Measurement of components (dial indicators, thread gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc.) to confirm that they are, or are not within toleranceAbility to read hydraulic schematics and fabrication blueprintsMachining of components, including milling, horizontal and vertical boring, turning, threading and drillingRemachining cylinders and other heavy equipment components back to tolerance in order to function to OEM specsAdd prior experience to shop floor and help with improvementsWillingness to get dirty and learnExperienceMust have a mechanical background with prior experience in industrial machiningJob shop machining and manufacturing parts conversationallyUse of a variety of manual machining equipment typesMath skills including geometry and trigonometry that can be applied to the processes used in the rebuild process of parts
