About Neuralink:We are creating devices that enable a bi-directional interface with the brain. These devices allow us to restore movement to the paralyzed, restore sight to the blind, and revolutionize how humans interact with their digital world. Team Description: The Robot Manufacturing Team within Neuralink's Surgery & Robot Hardware Department drives the production and scaling of the R1 Surgical Robot. Operating in a high-precision manufacturing environment advancing toward GMP certification, the team transitions cutting-edge R&D concepts into reliable, clinical- and commercial-grade production systems. Beyond primary manufacturing, the team collaborates closely with R&D on early-stage builds and next-generation engineering initiatives to continuously evolve surgical robotics and procedures. Our mission centers on our custom surgical platform, designed to fully automate the implantation of the N1 implant. To achieve this, we engineer and integrate multidisciplinary technologies—including a 5-axis robot for electrode placement, advanced compute and vision systems, optical coherence tomography (OCT) tissue imaging, power electronics, high-speed copper and optical networking, and comprehensive safety controls (e-stops, interlocks, and collision avoidance).Job Description and Responsibilities: As a Manufacturing Technician at Neuralink, you will manufacture our R1 Surgical Robot, which supports the implantation of the N1, an intracortical brain-computer interface (BCI) capable of recording and stimulating. Manufacturing the R1 Surgical Robot involves working with mechanical, electrical, and optical systems. Additionally, you will collaborate with our team on the assembly, maintenance, and repair of our R1 Surgical Robot while transforming our R&D process into a high-quality, FDA-compliant, GMP production environment. You’ll drive efforts to build the entire R1 Surgical Robot and its subassemblies, as well as perform troubleshooting, automation, data analysis, process improvement, and design/build new fixtures.
