include:Operating, maintaining, inspecting, and troubleshooting marine engines, propulsion systems, generators, pumps, compressors, boilers, and auxiliary machinery.Monitoring engine performance, fuel consumption, temperatures, pressures, vibration, lubrication, and other engineering parameters.Conducting preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on marine machinery and mechanical systems.Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, automation, and control-system faults.Developing and maintaining maintenance schedules, inspection programs, work orders, and equipment records.Supervising machinery repairs, overhauls, equipment installations, testing, commissioning, and performance checks.Inspecting engines, shafts, propellers, pumps, valves, piping systems, steering systems, and other critical equipment.Ensuring machinery and engineering systems operate within approved safety, performance, and environmental requirements.Managing planned-maintenance activities and maintaining accurate technical documentation.Coordinating with vessel crews, shipyards, contractors, suppliers, classification societies, surveyors, and marine-service providers.Reviewing technical drawings, equipment manuals, engineering specifications, maintenance records, and inspection reports.Supporting vessel dry-docking, repair, refurbishment, modification, and upgrade projects.Monitoring fuel efficiency, energy consumption, emissions, and overall machinery performance.Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, energy efficiency, maintenance effectiveness, and vessel performance.Supporting compliance with applicable maritime regulations, classification requirements, environmental standards, and company procedures.Participating in safety inspections, risk assessments, emergency drills, incident investigations, and engineering audits.Managing inventories of spare parts, lubricants, tools, equipment, and critical engineering materials.Evaluating equipment condition and recommending repairs, replacements, upgrades, or technical improvements.Supporting digital maintenance systems, remote monitoring, condition-based maintenance, IoT sensors, data analytics, and predictive-maintenance technologies.Preparing engineering reports, maintenance summaries, equipment-performance reports, inspection records, and technical recommendations.Responding to machinery breakdowns, equipment failures, operational emergencies, and engineering incidents.Ensuring safe work practices during maintenance, repairs, confined-space activities, hot work, lifting operations, and other engineering activities.Supporting environmental initiatives involving fuel efficiency, emissions reduction, waste management, ballast-water systems, and marine pollution prevention.Continuously improving machinery reliability, vessel performance, operational safety, maintenance efficiency, and engineering standards.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Engineering, or a related discipline.Strong understanding of marine propulsion systems, diesel engines, generators, pumps, compressors, boilers, piping systems, and auxiliary machinery.Knowledge of vessel machinery operation, maintenance, repair, inspection, and troubleshooting.Strong mechanical, technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with planned-maintenance systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).Knowledge of maritime safety, environmental, classification, and regulatory requirements.Familiarity with shipboard electrical systems, automation, instrumentation, hydraulics, and control systems is advantageous.Strong understanding of preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.Strong understanding of machinery safety, risk assessment, permit-to-work systems, and emergency-response procedures.Knowledge of fuel efficiency, marine emissions, energy management, and environmental protection.Familiarity with predictive maintenance, remote equipment monitoring, IoT sensors, data analytics, and digital marine-engineering technologies is advantageous.Strong communication, teamwork, coordination, and technical-reporting skills.Ability to work effectively with vessel crews, shipyards, contractors, suppliers, engineers, surveyors, and classification organizations.Relevant maritime engineering certifications or professional licenses are advantageous.Strong attention to detail, technical judgment, reliability, and safety awareness.High level of professionalism, integrity, accountability, and commitment to marine safety.Strong commitment to equipment reliability, environmental responsibility, operational efficiency, and continuous engineering improvement.
