Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole DescriptionThe Marine Engineer is responsible for providing engineering design, technical analysis, and documentation support for marine and offshore projects. The role involves preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, technical specifications, calculations, and design documents to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable marine standards, and client specifications.The successful candidate will work closely with design engineers, project managers, naval architects, and other technical teams to deliver accurate, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions for marine and offshore applications.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and develop marine engineering drawings, layouts, technical specifications, and design documentation.Assist in the design and engineering of marine systems, machinery, piping systems, and related equipment.Review engineering drawings, technical documents, and project specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.Perform engineering calculations, technical assessments, and design evaluations as required.Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure proper integration of marine systems and equipment.Support the preparation of design packages, technical reports, engineering calculations, and project submissions.Identify technical issues and recommend appropriate engineering solutions.Ensure engineering designs comply with relevant marine standards, classification society requirements, and client specifications.Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders on technical and design-related matters.Assist in design reviews, technical meetings, and project progress discussions.Maintain accurate records of engineering drawings, revisions, calculations, and technical documentation.Support project engineers and senior engineers in resolving design-related issues and meeting project deadlines.Perform other engineering and design-related duties as assigned.Qualifications & RequirementsDiploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related engineering discipline.Previous experience in marine engineering, engineering design, shipbuilding, ship repair, or offshore projects is an advantage.Knowledge of marine systems, machinery, piping arrangements, and engineering design principles.Ability to read, interpret, and prepare engineering drawings and technical specifications.Familiarity with CAD software, such as AutoCAD or other relevant engineering design tools.Basic understanding of applicable marine standards and classification society requirements.Proficient in Microsoft Office and technical documentation preparation.Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.Good communication, coordination, and teamwork abilities.Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of meeting project deadlines.Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
