Marine Officer | Master Mariner Class I | Chief Mate Experience | STS Operations

Job Title: Marine OfficerWe are seeking a highly competent and safety-focused Marine Officer to support and coordinate marine operations while ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a key role in marine safety, offshore operations, vessel management, and commercial support activities, contributing to the continued success and growth of the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and coordinate day-to-day marine operational activities.Oversee marine safety and offshore operations in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.Plan, coordinate, and manage Ship-to-Ship (STS) transfer operations.Ensure compliance with ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, HSSE, and other relevant maritime regulations.Act as the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and support vessel security-related activities.Monitor and coordinate vessel crew placement and management.Oversee vessel maintenance activities, statutory certifications, surveys, and inspections.Ensure compliance with statutory, classification society, and flag state requirements.Support business development initiatives and maintain strong customer relationships.Coordinate with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth marine operations.Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and documentation.Skills & Experience RequiredMaster Mariner Class I qualification (STCW compliant) is mandatory.Sailing experience as a Chief Mate or in a senior maritime position.Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, safety standards, and vessel management.Experience in marine and offshore operations, including STS transfer operations.Sound knowledge of statutory, classification society, and flag state requirements.Familiarity with Sri Lankan maritime regulations.Thorough knowledge of seamanship, navigation, and vessel operations.Good computer literacy and knowledge of relevant operational systems.Knowledge of AutoCAD will be an added advantage.Strong communication, coordination, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple operational responsibilities effectively.📩 How to Apply: Send your updated CV to harshi.j@intellej.com
