to lead the sustainable management, conservation, monitoring, and development of marine resources and coastal ecosystems.The successful candidate will oversee marine-resource programs, scientific assessments, conservation initiatives, fisheries and biodiversity projects, environmental monitoring, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder partnerships.This role is ideal for professionals with experience in marine biology, marine science, fisheries management, oceanography, coastal management, environmental science, marine conservation, or natural-resource management.🚀 What You'll DoDevelop and implement strategic marine-resource management plans aligned with organizational and national sustainability objectivesLead programs focused on the conservation, monitoring, and sustainable use of marine resourcesAssess the status, health, availability, and utilization of marine resources and ecosystemsManage marine biodiversity, fisheries, coastal habitats, and ecosystem-monitoring programsOversee research on marine species, habitats, fisheries resources, water quality, and ecosystem dynamicsCoordinate marine surveys, field studies, sampling programs, environmental assessments, and data collectionAnalyze marine-resource data and develop evidence-based management recommendationsMonitor populations of commercially and ecologically important marine speciesDevelop and implement sustainable fisheries and marine-resource management initiativesSupport programs involving fish stocks, coral reefs, mangroves, seagrass, marine mammals, turtles, and other marine biodiversityEstablish marine-resource monitoring indicators, baselines, targets, and performance measuresWork closely with scientists, researchers, fisheries operators, environmental specialists, government authorities, and local communitiesCoordinate with marine and coastal stakeholders to balance conservation, economic development, tourism, fisheries, and other usesDevelop policies, procedures, guidelines, and management frameworks for marine-resource protectionSupport marine spatial planning, protected-area management, habitat restoration, and coastal conservation initiativesIdentify environmental risks associated with coastal development, pollution, overfishing, climate change, and other human activitiesDevelop mitigation and adaptation strategies for marine and coastal ecosystemsMonitor the impacts of climate change, ocean warming, sea-level rise, acidification, and extreme weather on marine resourcesCoordinate environmental-impact assessments and marine monitoring programs for development projects where applicableEnsure compliance with applicable UAE environmental, fisheries, marine, coastal, and biodiversity regulationsSupport permitting, licensing, inspections, audits, and regulatory reportingManage marine-resource research projects, budgets, contractors, consultants, and specialist service providersDevelop partnerships with universities, research institutions, environmental organizations, fisheries organizations, and international marine-science bodiesManage marine-resource databases, GIS systems, scientific records, monitoring data, and technical documentationPrepare scientific reports, management plans, executive briefings, environmental assessments, and strategic recommendationsDevelop public education and stakeholder-awareness programs related to marine conservation and sustainable resource useIdentify emerging marine technologies such as remote sensing, autonomous underwater vehicles, environmental DNA, satellite monitoring, AI-based ecological analytics, and advanced ocean-monitoring systemsLead and mentor marine scientists, researchers, environmental specialists, field teams, and project managersDrive continuous improvement in marine-resource management, conservation effectiveness, scientific capability, and operational efficiency✅ What We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Marine Biology, Marine Science, Oceanography, Fisheries Science, Environmental Science, Coastal Management, or a related field5–10+ years of experience in marine-resource management, fisheries, marine conservation, environmental management, or related fieldsProven experience managing marine-resource or environmental programsStrong knowledge of marine ecosystems, biodiversity, fisheries, coastal environments, and natural-resource managementExperience designing and managing marine research, monitoring, assessment, and conservation programsStrong understanding of marine environmental regulations, conservation principles, and sustainability practicesExperience managing multidisciplinary scientific teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholdersStrong analytical, project-management, communication, and leadership skillsAbility to work in marine and coastal field environmentsStrong understanding of the UAE marine and coastal environment is highly desirable🌟 Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree or PhD in Marine Biology, Marine Science, Oceanography, Fisheries Management, Environmental Science, Coastal Management, or a related disciplineProfessional memberships with recognized marine-science, fisheries, or environmental organizationsStrong knowledge of marine protected areas, ecosystem-based management, fisheries science, habitat restoration, and biodiversity conservationExperience with GIS, remote sensing, spatial analysis, marine databases, and environmental modelingKnowledge of marine survey techniques, underwater monitoring, fisheries stock assessment, and ecological samplingExperience with coral-reef conservation, mangrove restoration, seagrass ecosystems, marine protected areas, or coastal resilienceKnowledge of international frameworks such as IUCN, FAO fisheries-management principles, CBD, and relevant marine-conservation standardsExperience with climate-change adaptation and marine ecosystem resilience programsKnowledge of UAE environmental authorities and regulations, including relevant federal and emirate-level environmental agenciesPrevious experience working across the UAE and GCC is an advantageExperience working in the Arabian Gulf marine environment is highly desirableExperience collaborating with government agencies, universities, fisheries organizations, NGOs, or international conservation bodiesFluency in English is
