The company values reliability, precision, and collaboration, offering opportunities to develop specialized skills in the shipyard and marine engineering fields.Role Description The Marine Rigger is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, responsible for safely lifting, moving, and securing heavy equipment and ship components within the drydock and shipyard. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting rigging gear, setting up lifting equipment such as slings, shackles, and wire ropes, and coordinating with crane operators and supervisors to execute lifts according to plans and safety standards. The role involves reading and interpreting load charts and lifting plans, calculating safe working loads, and ensuring all rigging operations comply with company procedures and regulatory requirements. The Marine Rigger will participate in toolbox talks, report hazards, assist with maintenance of rigging equipment, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support ship repair, construction, and outfitting activities. The position requires adherence to strict safety protocols and the ability to work in outdoor, physically demanding shipyard conditions.Qualifications Ability to safely operate and manage rigging equipment, including wire ropes, slings, shackles, chain blocks, and related tools.Strong understanding of lifting operations, load calculations, safe working loads, and basic mechanical principles.Knowledge of shipyard practices, marine structures, and heavy industry working environments.Commitment to safety standards, hazard identification, and compliance with relevant marine and industrial regulations.Ability to read and interpret lifting plans, technical drawings, and work instructions.Physical ability to perform manual handling, work at heights, and operate in varying weather conditions.Effective communication skills to coordinate with crane operators, supervisors, and other team members.Previous experience as a rigger, preferably in a shipyard, offshore, or heavy industrial setting.Vocational training or certification in rigging, lifting operations, or a related marine/industrial discipline is an advantage.Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as required by project schedules.
