Working at Russell Marine Products offers opportunities to grow skills in marine technology while supporting a community of outdoor enthusiasts.Role Description The Marine Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role located in El Dorado, KS This role is responsible for performing maintenance and repair on marine vessels and related equipment, including engines, electronics, and mechanical systems. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing issues, conducting troubleshooting, completing service work orders, and performing routine inspections to ensure safe and reliable operation. The technician will interact directly with customers to explain findings, recommend services, and provide guidance on proper use and care of marine equipment. The role also involves documenting work performed, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, coordinating with the parts and sales teams, and following all safety and quality standards.QualificationsStrong Maintenance & Repair and Maintenance skills for marine vessels, engines, and related systems.Effective Troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.Experience with Field Service work, including on-site diagnostics and repairs.Customer Service skills to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and provide a positive service experience.Basic understanding of marine electronics, propulsion systems, and boat rigging is highly beneficial.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and service documentation.Comfort working with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment in a shop and marina environment.High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in marine, mechanical, or electrical disciplines preferred.Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Physical ability to lift equipment, work in and around boats, and stand for extended periods while following safety guidelines.
