For over 20 years, we have helped many of the world's leading technology companies understand developers, developer ecosystems, and the tools and workflows shaping the future of software.Our ambition is to become the industry-standard measurement system for the software development economy - the reference point that product, platform, and engineering leaders rely on to make decisions about developers, AI, and the future of software.The RoleWe are looking for a Market Research Analyst based within Europe with 2 to 5 years of experience in market research, data analysis, or technology advisory work.In this role, you will develop and deliver research on how AI is reshaping software development, from developer tool adoption to engineering team workflows. You will work directly with product and platform leaders at major technology companies, translating our survey data into insights and foresight that shape their product, platform, and go-to-market decisions. As an analyst at SlashData, you will also act as a spokesperson for our research. This includes talking with clients, appearing in webinars, responding to journalists, and writing about your findings on social media.ResponsibilitiesWorking with clients and internal stakeholders to translate business problems into research objectives and projectsDesigning surveys that address the research needs of our clients and drive their desired outcomes. Analysing data (using Python) to extract actionable insights on developer behaviours, preferences, and market trendsProducing clear, well-structured reports that explain both the findings and their relevance (answering the "so what?" behind the results)Presenting findings in client briefings, webinars, and other external-facing formatsDeveloping deep domain expertise and a credible point of view in AI technology trends, developer tools, and software engineering practices, providing foresight on where the trends are headingBuilding and maintaining direct advisory relationships with client stakeholders, being a core part of the client relationshipRequirementsWhat we are looking forEssential2 to 5 years of experience in market research, data analysis, and client project deliveryExperience in working with stakeholders to understand business objectives and define research projects that address their needsExcellent business writing skills (English), with the ability to effectively communicate complex findings to non-technical audiencesDemonstrated experience in writing clear, evidence-based research reports that turn data into actionable insightsConfidence in client-facing settings, with strong presentation skills and the ability to hold your own in conversations with a Head of Product or VP of EngineeringStrong data analysis skills, including hands-on experience with Python, R, or similar scripting toolsAt least a basic understanding of statistics and applied quantitative methods, such as segmentation, clustering and classificationAbility to visualise data clearly and effectively through easy-to-understand charts and graphicsComfortable working as part of a distributed team, with mutual flexibility around working hours and occasional client meetings held after 17:00 UK timeGenuine curiosity about technology trends: you follow AI, developer tools, or software engineering developments because you find them interesting, not just because a job requires itBonus points forExperience in working with complex survey dataAdvanced Python skills, including data manipulation and analysis in PandasHaving software development experience as a hobby or past workExperience at an analyst firm, technology advisory firm, or in a developer relations/developer marketing roleYou will be successful in the first 3 months if: Developed a credible point of view on at least one AI technology trend, informed by our survey data and your own researchAuthored at least one research report, carrying out all data analysis and background research as neededActively participated in at least two client research projectsDelivered at least one client briefing or webinar to our high standardsActively contributed to shaping the research agenda and designing parts of the questionnaire of our upcoming global developer surveySupported our developer outreach and sales teams, promptly responding to any requests relevant to your workBuilt working relationships with at least 1 client account, actively participating in advisory conversations alongside senior analystsBenefitsBenefits and What You'll GetMeaningful Work at the Centre of AI & Software EvolutionJoin a company shaping how technology leaders understand developers in the AI era.
