Apply & track with Apply EdgePosition: Analyst, Market Risk & Control Compensation: AED 18,000 to 20,000 plus statutory benefits Location: Dubai, UAE Overview Gateworth are currently supporting a client within the commodities trading sector who are looking to recruit a Risk Analyst of Market Risk & Control to join their Middle Office Risk Management function. Reporting to the Senior Risk Manager (based internationally), this role is responsible for monitoring, analysing and controlling market risk exposure arising from the company's physical and derivative trading activities, acting as a key link between the trading, finance and management teams to ensure accurate P&L reporting, effective risk oversight and insightful analysis of market drivers.Main ResponsibilitiesProduce and validate daily trading P&L and exposure reports for physical and paper trades, including daily P&L attribution and variance analysis across price, volume, basis, timing and FX impacts.Monitor positions and mark-to-market valuations across time horizons and commodity curves, analysing and explaining key market risk drivers, trends and sensitivities to management.Support scenario and stress testing and hedge performance reviews.Ensure accurate and timely trade capture, valuation and Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) system reconciliation across front, middle and back office, verifying hedges between physical exposures and derivative instruments and investigating discrepancies.Enforce trading and risk limits (e.g. exposure, stop-loss) and escalate breaches, maintaining data quality standards and the integrity of the CTRM system and pricing curves.Support internal and external audits and assist in improving risk processes and controls.Conduct market and competitor analysis on crude oil, refined products or gas markets to support trading and risk decisions, tracking macroeconomic and fundamental drivers such as inventory, supply-demand balance, freight and FX.Prepare ad hoc management reports, dashboards and presentations with actionable insights.Qualifications & Prerequisites Proven experience in a market risk or trading risk analyst role within a physical and derivative commodities trading environment, with crude oil trading exposure essential.Strong understanding of P&L attribution, mark-to-market valuation, hedge performance and commodity risk management principles.Hands-on experience with the CTRM system and pricing curve maintenance, with strong attention to data quality and control.Excellent analytical and Excel-based reporting skills, with the ability to translate complex market data into clear, actionable insights for management.Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across trading, finance and management teams.Mandarin language skills would be a distinct advantage given the client's market focus.ApplyApplicants meeting this criterion and looking for a progressive and challenging opportunity should submit an application via, apply@gateworth.com quoting the GWG reference: 8552
