C2i is recruiting for Time Out Market, to build the team behind one of Abu Dhabi's most anticipated openings. Time Out Market is the division of Time Out that brings our food and cultural experiences to life for our guests, readers and clients.Our Market Café Supervisor provides outstanding guest service and product to ensure that each of our guests enjoys a memorable experience with every visit.WHAT YOU'LL DOSupervise daily operations of the café to ensure efficient and smooth serviceEnsure all opening, operating and closing procedures are completed according to company standardsLead, motivate and support the barista team to achieve operational excellenceConduct daily shift briefings and communicate operational duties to team membersSchedule and assign daily duties and responsibilitiesMonitor workflow and allocate tasks to team members throughout the shiftRespond promptly to operational challenges and implement effective solutionsTrain new employees and support ongoing staff developmentTrain and coach team members on service, product knowledge and SOPsFoster teamwork, professionalism and a positive work environmentEnsure all guests receive exceptional, friendly and professional serviceHandle guest feedback and complaints professionally and effectivelyManage stock levels, inventory, product rotation and wastageMonitor POS transactions, payment handling and daily sales activitiesSupport the achievement of sales targets through upselling and effective serviceEnsure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safetyMonitor café equipment and report maintenance issues promptlyComplete shift handovers, reports and operational recordsWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORMinimum of six months to one year of direct work experiencePOS systems experienceKnowledge of drink recipes and beverage presentationExperience in high-volume operations, opening and closing duties, guest relations, and sanitation and safetyAbility to create and maintain a sense of urgencyAbility to perform basic mathematical equationsStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively and assertively in English, verbally and in writing, with staff, clients and the publicAbility to maintain composure, personal integrity and a high level of confidentialityAbility to demonstrate a positive attitude always and listen empatheticallyAbility to work as a team, stay organised, handle various projects at one time, follow up and make accurate decisionsAbility to handle a fast-paced, busy environment, work under pressure and meet deadlinesHigh School Diploma preferredTHE ENVIRONMENTRestaurant environment with varying levels of noise and crowds depending on guest volume. The role is physically active — extended periods standing, moving at pace, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Varied shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays. A professional, neat and well-groomed appearance is required at all times.
