About the RoleTechtinium Technologies is hiring a Marketing, Communications & Research Associate who can research on highly technical topics, derive meaningful marketing content from it and effectively communicate with the relevant audience. In this role, you’ll be helping a California-based non-profit science and R&D organization do fundraising-focused research with communications execution. Much of the client's funding comes from institutional sources — foundations, government grant programs, corporate partners, and major donors — and this research directly supports those relationships. You will research prospective funders and grant-making bodies, track their priorities and giving patterns, and help identify alignment between their interests and their programs. Those insights then feed directly into the communications you write: funder updates, grant-related correspondence, and donor and stakeholder engagement content delivered through structured systems — email campaigns, newsletters, and engagement programs. This is not a strategy-only or idea-only role. It is designed for someone who enjoys writing and research in equal measure, and who takes ownership of execution, tracking, and follow-through. You will receive training in campaign workflows, marketing systems, and engagement practices, but you are expected to be detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working with structured tools.Prior experience with non-profits, foundations, or science and research-driven organizations is strongly preferred — you should be comfortable communicating complex or technical subject matter to a general audience with accuracy and credibility.Key Responsibilities1. Fundraising & Institutional ResearchResearch prospective institutional funders — foundations, government grant programs, and corporate or major donors — to identify their funding priorities, giving history, and application requirements.Track how peer science and R&D non-profits position themselves to funders, and surface relevant benchmarks or opportunities.Maintain organized profiles and briefing notes on funders and prospects to support grant applications and fundraising outreach.Translate research findings into actionable input for donor communications, targeting, and campaign messaging.2. Communications & Content (Core Responsibility)Write clear, accurate, and engaging content for email campaigns, newsletters, and audience updates — often translating scientific or technical material for a general audience.Adapt tone and messaging for different audience segments (institutional funders, individual donors, members, media, general public) using marketing automation tools.Ensure all content aligns with brand voice, scientific accuracy, and campaign objectives, and reflects the credibility expected of a research institution.3. Campaign Execution & OperationsSet up, test, and execute email campaigns accurately and on schedule.Prepare and send personalized communications using Word and Mail Merge.Maintain clean and accurate audience data in CRM systems (Salesforce).Track campaign assets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure smooth execution.4. Coordination & SupportCollaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to support ongoing campaigns.Assist with logistics for online events and engagement activities.Review campaign results and research data together to flag opportunities for improvement in content, targeting, or process.Who This Role Is For This role is a strong fit if you:Enjoy both research and writing, and can move fluidly between the twoAre comfortable handling repetitive or detailed tasks when accuracy mattersTake responsibility for completing tasks end-to-endCan manage multiple priorities without losing qualityWant to grow into a well-rounded marketing, communications, and research professionalAre motivated by mission-driven work with a scientific or research organizationRequirements3+ years of experience in marketing, communications, content, market research, or campaign support rolesStrong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to write for both lay and technical audiencesExperience working with, or strong interest in, non-profits, foundations, or science/R&D organizationsComfort working with structured tools (documents, spreadsheets, CRMs, or similar systems)High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlinesNice to HavePrior experience communicating for a science, research, or academic institutionExperience with email marketing or automation toolsExposure to CRM systems like SalesforceBasic understanding of prospect research, grant/funder research methods, campaign tracking, or reportingAbout TechtiniumTechtinium is a product engineering company helping customers across the globe build technology products that serve millions of users.
