The business operates retail stores across New Zealand and sells locally and internationally through online, wholesale, and B2B channels, all while remaining committed to gear that works hard and treads lightly.Role Description The Marketing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Christchurch. This position is responsible for planning and executing marketing strategies across retail, online, wholesale, and B2B channels to grow brand awareness and drive sales. Day-to-day tasks include developing and managing campaigns, overseeing digital and social media activity, coordinating content creation, and maintaining consistent brand messaging. The role also involves analyzing marketing performance, managing budgets, collaborating closely with product, sales, and retail teams, and identifying opportunities to promote Cactus Outdoor’s sustainability and repair initiatives. The Marketing Manager will ensure that customer insights and market trends inform marketing plans and support long-term brand growth.Qualifications Experience in marketing strategy, campaign planning, and brand management, ideally in retail, outdoor, or apparel sectors.Strong digital marketing skills, including social media management, email marketing, and website or e-commerce promotion.Ability to coordinate content creation, manage creative assets, and work with internal or external designers, writers, and agencies.Competence in data analysis and reporting using marketing analytics tools to measure performance and optimize campaigns.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and consistent brand tone.Proven project management abilities, including prioritization, deadline management, and cross-functional collaboration.Experience with budget management and ROI-focused decision-making.Comfort working on-site in Christchurch and engaging regularly with retail, operations, and product teams.Knowledge of or interest in outdoor activities, workwear, and sustainability-focused brands is highly beneficial.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
