Manager – Marketing Strategy (Manufacturing/Oil & Gas/ Construction)Location: Abu Dhabi, UAEFunction: Commercial – MarketingLevel: ManagerReports to: Director – MarketingRole PurposeThe Manager – Marketing Strategy will lead the development of the organisation’s commercial and marketing strategy through comprehensive market analysis, identification of industry trends and opportunities, and the development of actionable commercial insights.The role will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies that support business objectives, revenue growth and competitive positioning.The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner to the business, ensuring commercial decisions are data-driven, commercially viable and aligned with the organisation’s long-term objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesMarket Research & Commercial AnalysisLead comprehensive market research to identify industry trends, market opportunities and competitive dynamics.Analyse customer behaviour, market conditions, demand drivers and competitor activities.Translate market intelligence and data into clear commercial insights and recommendations.Develop and present commercial strategies and recommendations to senior leadership.Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of approved commercial strategies in collaboration with relevant teams.Maintain a strong understanding of developments across the steel, metals and broader industrial landscape.Commercial & Marketing StrategyDevelop the overarching framework for marketing and commercial strategies and plans.Identify opportunities to strengthen market positioning and support sustainable revenue growth.Develop targeted market segmentation strategies based on market insights and customer profiles.Lead the development of marketing plans, supporting campaigns and relevant industry events.Ensure commercial initiatives are aligned with the organisation's wider business objectives.Business Cases & Strategic InitiativesContribute to the development of the organisation's overall commercial strategy.Develop and support business cases for strategic investments, growth initiatives and potential M&A opportunities.Assess market attractiveness, commercial viability and strategic fit of new opportunities.Provide insights and recommendations to support long-term growth and expansion.Work with internal stakeholders to evaluate new markets, customer segments and commercial opportunities.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Sales, Product Development, Finance, Supply Chain and other relevant functions to ensure alignment between commercial strategy and operational priorities.Act as a liaison between different business functions to support the effective execution of commercial initiatives.Translate complex market and commercial information into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and relevant external industry partners.Support stakeholder alignment and buy-in for strategic commercial initiatives.External Partners & Market SupportSupport the development of RFPs and the selection of external vendors and third-party partners.Support negotiations and agreement of appropriate commercial and contractual terms.Manage relationships with relevant external market research, advisory and commercial partners where required.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Strategic Management or a related discipline.MBA or equivalent strategic management qualification would be advantageous.Professional Experience8–10 years of relevant experience in commercial strategy, management consulting, market intelligence, business analysis or a related strategic role.Previous experience in strategic or commercial management within the steel industry is highly desirable.Candidates from metals, mining, manufacturing or other closely related industrial sectors may also be considered where they have strong commercial and market strategy exposure.Strong experience conducting market analysis and translating findings into commercial recommendations.Experience developing business cases and supporting strategic growth initiatives.Exposure to senior leadership and the ability to present complex commercial recommendations clearly.Key
