We are seeking a senior MarTech leader to act as the single point of ownership for the MarTech function across Marketing, Loyalty, CRM, Digital Commerce, Data and Technology. The role will shape and deliver an enterprise roadmap that turns customer data and platform capabilities into measurable improvements in acquisition, engagement, retention, personalisation and lifetime value.You will lead the end-to-end MarTech portfolio across strategy, product management, architecture alignment, platform delivery, adoption, operations, performance governance and vendor management. The role will balance long-term transformation with reliable day-to-day execution across multiple brands, markets and business units.The ideal candidate combines product leadership, strong MarTech domain expertise, technical fluency and commercial judgement. The role requires a leader who can translate business ambition into an executable roadmap, challenge fragmented solutions, align senior stakeholders and build a high-performing team that delivers scalable enterprise capabilities.Role MandateEstablish one prioritised enterprise MarTech roadmap aligned to customer, commercial and operational priorities.Connect customer data, identity, orchestration, personalisation, analytics and paid-media activation through a coherent target architecture and operating model.Accelerate business value through platform adoption, automation, reliable data and faster campaign and product delivery.Create clear accountability across Marketing, Product, Engineering, Data, vendors and agencies, with transparent governance, KPIs, risks and decisions.Evaluate and industrialise practical AI, GenAI, agentic marketing, real-time personalisation and next-best-action use cases.Key ResponsibilitiesMarTech Strategy, Vision & Enterprise RoadmapDefine the MarTech vision, capability model, target state and multi-year roadmap across customer data, engagement, personalisation, measurement and activation.Translate Marketing, Loyalty, CRM, Ecommerce and Digital priorities into a sequenced portfolio with clear outcomes, dependencies, investment needs and accountable owners.Own prioritisation across brands, markets and business units, balancing enterprise reuse with justified local requirements.Maintain a transparent view of roadmap progress, decisions, risks, capacity, technical debt and value realisation for senior leadership.Ensure new initiatives align with the wider MarTech architecture, first-party data strategy and operating model.MarTech Product & Agile Delivery LeadershipLead MarTech as a product portfolio from discovery and business requirements through solution design, implementation, release, adoption and optimisation.Establish product-led ways of working, including outcome definition, backlog governance, sprint priorities, release planning, acceptance criteria and dependency management.Partner with Product, Engineering, Data and Marketing teams to convert business needs into technically clear and implementation-ready requirements.Challenge scope, sequencing and delivery approaches where they create duplication, weak customer value or avoidable architectural complexity.Create clear escalation and decision paths so critical dependencies and delivery blockers are resolved quickly.Customer Data, Identity & CDP LeadershipOwn the business capability roadmap for customer identity, profile unification, segmentation, consent, preference management and first-party data activation.Set requirements for customer schemas, identifiers, event taxonomy, audience rules, data availability, quality and activation readiness.Partner with Data, Architecture, Privacy and Engineering teams to ensure customer data is trusted, governed and usable across channels and platforms.Guide the evolution of CDP and CRM capabilities to support real-time journeys, lifecycle marketing, personalisation and paid-media activation.Ensure use cases have defined value, data prerequisites, operating ownership and measurable adoption outcomes.Omnichannel Orchestration & PersonalisationOwn the capability roadmap for marketing automation and customer engagement across Email, SMS, Push, WhatsApp, Web and App.Enable consistent orchestration of lifecycle, triggered and real-time customer journeys across brands and markets.Drive reusable decisioning, dynamic content, recommendations, next-best-action and personalisation frameworks that reduce one-off execution.Partner with CRM, Loyalty, Ecommerce and Creative teams to improve campaign velocity, relevance, consistency and scalability.Ensure customer contact, suppression, consent and preference rules are embedded into activation design.Architecture, Integrations & Platform ReliabilityProvide MarTech domain leadership for APIs, SDKs, webhooks, server-to-server integrations, event streaming and data pipelines.Translate effectively between marketing and engineering teams, ensuring solution choices are technically feasible, supportable and aligned to enterprise architecture.Oversee the operational health of critical MarTech platforms, customer data flows, tracking, feeds and integrations through clear service ownership and monitoring.Partner with cloud and data teams across environments such as Databricks, Azure, AWS, Snowflake or equivalent to enable dependable data exchange and activation.Ensure technical debt, incidents, data-quality issues and reliability risks are visible, prioritised and resolved through accountable plans.Digital Analytics, Tracking & AdTech EnablementSet direction for digital analytics implementation across Web and App, including GA4, Google Tag Manager, event schemas and measurement requirements.Oversee capabilities for Meta CAPI, Google Enhanced Conversions and other privacy-led server-side conversion and tracking solutions.Guide the use of pixels, SDKs, app events, deep linking, attribution and Mobile Measurement Partners such as AppsFlyer or Branch.Enable governed first-party data activation to Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, DSPs and relevant clean-room or data-collaboration use cases.Partner with Analytics, Performance Marketing, Privacy and Technology teams to respond to cookie deprecation and strengthen durable measurement.Performance, Adoption & Value GovernanceDefine MarTech KPIs covering platform adoption, campaign velocity, data availability, personalisation coverage, reliability, cost efficiency and commercial impact.Ensure benefits, baselines, measurement methods and accountable owners are defined for material roadmap initiatives before investment and launch.Establish portfolio reviews that connect delivery progress, platform usage, service health, costs, risks and business outcomes.Identify underused capabilities, duplicated tools, manual processes and weak adoption, then direct corrective action or rationalisation.Communicate executive-level performance with clear evidence, confidence, trade-offs, decisions required and next actions.AI, Automation & Emerging TechnologyEvaluate AI, GenAI, agentic marketing, real-time personalisation and next-best-action technologies against defined business problems and governance requirements.Prioritise practical use cases based on customer value, feasibility, data readiness, scalability, risk and measurable productivity or commercial impact.Move approved use cases from experimentation into governed production capabilities with clear ownership, controls, adoption and monitoring.Drive automation that reduces manual effort, improves time-to-market and increases the capacity of Marketing and MarTech teams.Maintain an informed view of emerging vendor and market capabilities without creating fragmented or duplicative technology choices.Vendor, Commercial & Portfolio ManagementLead enterprise MarTech vendor and implementation-partner relationships across selection, commercials, delivery, SLAs, service quality and roadmap alignment.Own or influence business cases, investment proposals, renewals, licence optimisation and total-cost-of-ownership decisions.Set outcome-based expectations for vendors and agencies, supported by transparent performance reviews, issue resolution and escalation.Ensure contracts, platform commitments and implementation plans align to the approved enterprise roadmap and architecture.Reduce unnecessary platform overlap and reinvest savings where stronger capability or adoption will create greater value.Team Leadership & Operating ModelBuild and lead a multidisciplinary MarTech team that may include Product Owners, MarTech specialists, Business Analysts and Engineering or partner resources.Define clear accountability across Enablement & Data Operations, Activation Infrastructure, Performance Governance and other MarTech capabilities.Set objectives, delivery standards, development plans and succession coverage for the team.Create a culture of ownership, technical curiosity, commercial focus, constructive challenge and disciplined execution.Put scalable processes, documentation and governance in place so the function is resilient and not dependent on individual knowledge.Executive Stakeholder & Change LeadershipOperate as the single point of MarTech ownership across Marketing, Loyalty, CRM, Digital/Ecommerce, Data and Technology.Align senior business and technology leaders around priorities, trade-offs, architecture choices, investment and delivery commitments.Simplify complex technical topics into clear customer, commercial and operational implications for non-technical stakeholders.Lead adoption and organisational change so delivered platforms and capabilities translate into changed ways of working and measurable value.Challenge requirements and technology decisions constructively when they conflict with enterprise priorities, architecture or expected value.Key StakeholdersInternal: Digital Marketing, Loyalty, CRM, Performance Marketing, Ecommerce, Product, Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Data and Analytics, Data Science, Information Security, Privacy, Finance, Procurement, Legal and brand/market leadership.External: CRM/CDP and engagement-platform providers, cloud and data partners, systems integrators, implementation partners, media and measurement platforms, specialist agencies and strategic technology vendors.Qualifications & Experience10-14+ years of experience across MarTech, digital product, CRM/CDP, customer data, marketing technology or digital transformation, preferably within retail, ecommerce or a large consumer business.4-6+ years leading MarTech platforms, products or transformation programmes across multiple brands, markets and business units.Proven experience owning a MarTech roadmap end-to-end, from business requirements and prioritisation through solution design, implementation, adoption and optimisation.Demonstrated experience in a product-led or agile environment, managing backlogs, sprint priorities, releases and dependencies with Product, Engineering, Data and Marketing teams.Strong experience managing enterprise MarTech vendors, implementation partners and agencies, including commercials, SLAs, performance and roadmap alignment.Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and influencing senior business and technology stakeholders in a matrix organisation.Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, information systems, data, business, marketing or a related discipline; an advanced degree is advantageous.Technical & Functional SkillsStrong understanding of CDP, CRM/campaign orchestration, customer engagement and personalisation platforms.Hands-on knowledge of platforms such as Bloomreach, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Experience Platform/Journey Optimizer, Braze, MoEngage or similar.Strong understanding of customer identity, profile unification, segmentation, consent, preference management and first-party data activation.Experience with marketing automation and omnichannel activation across Email, SMS, Push, WhatsApp, Web and App.Understanding of APIs, SDKs, webhooks, server-to-server integrations, event streaming and system integrations, with the ability to translate between marketing, business and engineering teams.Working knowledge of cloud and data environments and data pipelines, including Databricks, Azure, AWS, Snowflake or equivalent.Strong understanding of data schemas, event taxonomy, data quality, customer identifiers and integration architecture.Strong knowledge of GA4, Google Tag Manager and digital analytics implementation across Web and App.Experience with Meta CAPI, Google Enhanced Conversions and other server-side conversion and tracking solutions.Understanding of
