Applicants can expect a professional environment that values competence, integrity, and continuous improvement.Role Description The Master will hold overall command of the vessel, ensuring safe navigation, seaworthiness, and compliance with all applicable maritime laws, regulations, and company policies. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing voyages, overseeing bridge operations, monitoring vessel performance, and managing safety drills and emergency preparedness. The role also involves supervising and mentoring the crew, maintaining discipline on board, and fostering a culture of safety and teamwork. The Master will coordinate with company representatives, port authorities, and other stakeholders on operational, commercial, and regulatory matters, and ensure accurate documentation and reporting. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, with deployment on company-managed vessels as per operational requirements.Qualifications Valid Certificate of Competency as Master (FG) or equivalent, meeting national and international regulatory standards.Extensive sea-going experience in a senior officer capacity, with proven time served as Master or Chief Officer on similar vessel types.Strong expertise in navigation, ship handling, cargo operations, and voyage planning under varied operating and weather conditions.Comprehensive knowledge of international maritime regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, ISM Code) and company safety management systems.Demonstrated leadership, crew management, and people skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and assess a diverse crew.High level of situational awareness, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, especially in emergency or high-pressure situations.Proficiency in written and spoken English for clear communication with crew, company management, and external authorities.Strong record-keeping, reporting, and documentation skills, including use of modern shipboard systems and basic computer literacy.Medically fit as per statutory and company requirements, with the ability to work in demanding maritime environments.Prior experience with reputable ship management or crewing companies and familiarity with Indian and international ports is an advantage.
