As a recognized industry leader, BSM offers maritime professionals opportunities to work with advanced ships, international teams, and established operational standards.Role Description The Master is responsible for the overall command, safe operation, and management of the vessel, ensuring compliance with international regulations, company procedures, and industry best practices. This full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai involves planning and overseeing navigation, cargo operations, safety drills, and environmental protection measures. The Master leads and mentors the onboard team, coordinates with shore-based management, and maintains clear communication with authorities, port officials, and clients. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring vessel performance, supervising maintenance activities, managing documentation and reports, and ensuring a high standard of safety, security, and service quality for all onboard operations.Qualifications Valid Master Mariner (Captain) license with appropriate STCW certifications and medical fitness to serve at sea.Extensive seagoing experience in command, preferably on gas, tanker, offshore, container, bulk, or cruise vessels.Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations, safety management systems (ISM), and environmental compliance.Proven leadership, crew management, and conflict-resolution skills with a focus on inclusive and respectful teamwork.Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and ability to interact effectively with multicultural crews and shore-based stakeholders.Proficiency in modern bridge systems, navigation equipment, and vessel management software.Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage emergencies and safety drills effectively.Commitment to continuous professional development, safety culture, and adherence to company values and standards.
