Joining Discovery Landscape & Gardening Services offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful outdoor projects and grow within a company committed to excellence in service.Role DescriptionThe Materials and Process Engineer will work on-site in Abu Dhabi in a full-time capacity, supporting landscaping and gardening projects through the selection, testing, and optimization of materials and processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating soils, metals, coatings, and other construction materials for durability, safety, and suitability, and conducting mechanical testing to validate performance under environmental conditions. The role involves performing failure analysis on materials and components, recommending corrective actions, and collaborating closely with project managers, designers, and field teams to implement cost-effective, sustainable solutions. The engineer will develop and refine material specifications and process standards, ensure compliance with applicable regulations and quality guidelines, and maintain documentation and reports for ongoing and completed projects.Responsibilities Evaluate, review, and approve construction materials in accordance with project specifications and international standards.Ensure compliance with ASTM, BS, ISO, and other applicable standards.Coordinate material testing, inspections, and certifications with accredited laboratories and third-party agencies.Review material submittals, technical data sheets, shop drawings, and method statements.Provide technical support to engineering, procurement, and site teams on material selection and application.Investigate material-related issues and recommend effective corrective actions.Support value engineering initiatives by identifying cost-effective material alternatives without compromising quality or safety.Promote sustainable material solutions and continuous improvement across projects.Maintain accurate records of approvals, inspections, laboratory reports, and technical documentation.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.3–5 years of experience in material engineering, quality control, or material testing within construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.Strong knowledge of ASTM, ISO, BS, and other international material standards.Experience with laboratory testing procedures and material approval processes.Professional certifications such as NACE, ASNT, or equivalent are an added advantage.Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.If you're looking to grow your career in a dynamic engineering environment and contribute to high-quality, sustainable projects, we'd love to hear from you.
