We integrate design, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and technology to deliver greater certainty in quality, cost and project delivery.The RoleWe are looking for a Materials Specialist to manage and continuously improve DuPod's material standards, product specifications and technical compliance across our modular product portfolio.The role will work closely with Design, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality and Project teams to ensure materials are technically compliant, commercially viable, manufacturable and standardized.Key ResponsibilitiesMaterials & SpecificationsDevelop and maintain DuPod's approved material library, material standards and product specifications.Evaluate materials based on performance, durability, quality, cost, availability, lead time and manufacturability.Prepare material specifications, technical datasheets, submittals and approval logs.Review project specifications and ensure alignment with DuPod's standard products and materials.Evaluate and approve material alternatives and substitutions.Product & Manufacturing SupportWork with Design , Projects Managment, Procurement and Manufacturing teams on material selection and Submitals to End useds Identify opportunities to standardize materials, reduce SKUs, improve manufacturability and optimize cost.Research and introduce innovative materials and technologies that improve DuPod products.Testing & ComplianceDefine material testing requirements, performance criteria and acceptance standards.Review test reports, certificates and technical documentation.Ensure materials comply with applicable ASTM, BS, EN, ISO, UAE and project-specific standards.Support investigation and resolution of material-related NCRs and quality issues.Suppliers & Continuous ImprovementTechnically evaluate and qualify material suppliers and manufacturers.Work with Procurement to identify alternative sources and mitigate supply-chain risks.Monitor material and supplier performance and drive improvements.Maintain controlled records of material approvals, changes and lessons learned.Digital & Change ManagementMaintain accurate and revision-controlled material information within DuPod's digital environment.Support integration of material information with BIM, BOM, procurement and manufacturing systems.Manage technical material changes, substitutions, RFIs and NCRs.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Materials, Civil, Architecture, Mechanical, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.5+ years relevant experience in materials, specifications, building products, construction or manufacturing.Experience with hospitality, Grade A construction, modular/offsite construction or manufacturing is preferred.Strong knowledge of construction materials, specifications, testing and international standards.Experience with material submittals, supplier evaluation and client/consultant approvals.Understanding of DFMA, value engineering and product standardization is highly desirable.UAE/GCC project experience preferred.Preferred CertificationsCSI / CCS, LEED, Six Sigma, ISO 9001 or relevant BIM certification.What We Look ForA technically strong and commercially aware engineer who is detail-oriented, analytical, innovative and solutions-focused, with the ability to translate material requirements into standardized, manufacturable and high-performing modular products.At DuPod, you are not just specifying materials—you are helping build the material and product standards of an industrialized construction platform.
