ROLE – Mechanical Design EngineerSALARY - $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, dependent on experienceTYPE – PermanentLOCATION – South Brisbane, QLDMy client designs and manufactures a range of bespoke heavy equipment and machinery. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Southern Brisbane on a permanent basis.The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:At least 4 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering positionDegree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similarHighly skilled with 3D CAD, ideally Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 etc.Previous experience designing heavy equipment, machinery or industrial systemsExperience working with a variety of materials including structural steel, sheet metal, machined components and fabricated partsGood theoretical engineering knowledge of core principles, materials and tolerancesStrong practical skills with hand calculations, verification, validation, FEA, testing and prototypingExperienced designing equipment from concept through to manufactureAble to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgetsAble to maintain technical documentation and BOM entryAble to work well individually as well as part of a teamThe Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:Using CAD for concept design and producing detailed technical drawingsDesigning heavy equipment and machinery for manufactureManaging the full design lifecycle from concept through to productionCollaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projectsLiaising with manufacturing providers and suppliersBeing involved in final assembly and testingCreating required documentation for design and project reportsUpdating 3D models and drawingsInputting parts into the MRP system and creating BOMsChecking drawings for sign offWorking in a small, multi-disciplinary team on varied projectsIf you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible.
