Team members join a dynamic environment focused on precision engineering and continuous improvement.Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Kaduwela. This role involves designing mechanical components and assemblies for custom engineering solutions, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and manufacturability requirements. Day-to-day tasks include developing and reviewing detailed CAD models and drawings, collaborating with production, R&D, and fabrication teams, and refining designs based on testing, feedback, and practical constraints. The engineer will support projects across CNC machining, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other service areas, preparing technical documentation and bills of materials, and participating in design reviews. The role also includes problem-solving on the shop floor, optimizing existing designs, and contributing to process and product improvements.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong foundational skills in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering.Candidates should possess applied expertise in Machine Design and Product Design for industrial and custom engineering solutions.Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.Candidates should possess practical understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, fabrication) and materials selection.Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities in a workshop or production environment.Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and production staff.A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.Experience in automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, or similar industrial systems, and familiarity with quality and safety standards, will be an advantage.
