ROLE - Mechanical Design Engineer (Junior, Senior, Principal) TERM - PermanentLOCATION - West MidlandsSALARY - £40,000 - £80,000 (dependent on experience) Overview:My client is a specialist manufacturing business working across multiple sectors based in the West Midlands. Due to current expansion and multiple upcoming projects they are looking to take on numerous Mechanical Design Engineers to join the team on a permanent basis. The successful candidates will be responsible for developing mechanical designs, producing detailed drawings and supporting the manufacturing and engineering teams.The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:Previous experience in a mechanical design/engineering roleStrong general mechanical design experience within a manufacturing environmentProficient with 2D/3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or similarExperience producing detailed engineering drawings and 3D modelsGood understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standardsExperience or understanding of FEA and design analysisStrong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and design for manufactureAbility to interpret technical drawings, specifications and customer requirementsExperience designing components, assemblies and mechanical systemsGood attention to detail and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and organisational skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary engineering teamThe Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:Producing detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD modelsDesigning and developing mechanical components, assemblies and productsApplying GD&T and relevant engineering standardsCarrying out or supporting FEA and design analysis where requiredWorking closely with manufacturing to ensure designs are suitable for manufactureModifying and improving existing designsSupporting new product development and engineering projectsPreparing technical documentation and specificationsWorking with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issuesEnsuring designs meet customer, quality and manufacturing requirementsThe role is full-time, Monday to Friday with opportunities for hybrid work.If you are an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a new opportunity with a specialist manufacturing business, please apply with an up-to-date CV as soon as possible.
