is growing its New Product Development (NPD) team and is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join them permanently.This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who enjoys taking ownership of designs, solving real engineering problems and seeing their work progress from an initial concept through to a finished, manufactured product.You’ll be working on precision, high-speed rotating machinery, collaborating closely with manufacturing and other engineering disciplines to develop products where accuracy, reliability and practical engineering really matter.🔧 WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGYou'll have genuine involvement across the engineering lifecycle, including:Developing mechanical concepts and turning them into detailed 3D CAD designsProducing accurate, production-ready engineering drawingsDesigning precision components, mechanisms and assembliesWorking with close-tolerance bores, shafts, seals, bearings and other precision componentsDeveloping and maintaining technical documentationSupporting NPD projects from initial concept through to manufactureWorking closely with manufacturing to make sure designs can actually be produced efficientlyTroubleshooting design and manufacturing challengesReviewing and improving existing designsSupporting continuous product and process improvementsWorking collaboratively with other engineers and departments to deliver projectsThis isn't a role where you'll simply be handed a drawing and asked to model it.You'll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, influence designs and see your engineering work become a physical product.🎯 WHAT KIND OF ENGINEER ARE THEY LOOKING FOR?We're looking for a strong Mechanical Design Engineer with good fundamentals, solid CAD experience and a practical approach to engineering.Ideally, you'll have around 5+ years' mechanical design experience, although the right combination of experience, technical ability and attitude is more important than a specific number of years.You might come from a background in:Precision engineeringRotating equipmentFluid powerPneumatics or hydraulicsPumps, compressors or gearboxesValve automationProcess equipmentManufacturing / machineryAerospaceMedical devicesAutomotiveOther highly engineered productsThe important thing is that you're a capable mechanical designer who understands how things are designed, manufactured and assembled.💻 CAD & ENGINEERING SKILLSStrong 3D CAD experience is important.Solid Edge is preferred, but experience with other professional CAD packages will be considered — including:Siemens NXSolidWorksCreoOther comparable 3D CAD systemsExperience producing detailed engineering drawings, working with tolerances/GD&T and designing for manufacture will be highly relevant.If you've worked across concept design, detailed design, prototyping, manufacturing and NPD, your experience could translate particularly well.⭐ EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD BE A REAL PLUSYou don't working on products where the detail matters — tolerances, materials, manufacturing methods, assembly, performance and reliability.You'll also have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and manufacturing teams rather than operating in a silo.If you've previously worked in a multidisciplinary environment, led projects, worked directly with manufacturing or taken products
