Mechanical Design Engineer (PODS Factory)

The role will focus on the design, coordination, and development of mechanical systems for prefabricated/modular PODs, ensuring designs are practical, efficient, and suitable for factory production and site installation.Experience in PODs, modular construction, or prefabrication is preferred. Candidates with strong villa/residential MEP experience will also be considered.Responsibilities includeDesign and develop mechanical systems for prefabricated/modular PODs.Prepare and review HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical layouts, drawings, and specifications.Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, and electrical disciplines.Ensure designs comply with UAE codes, project specifications, and authority requirements.Develop detailed designs suitable for factory production, assembly, transportation, and installation.Review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation.Identify and resolve design clashes and technical issues.Coordinate with BIM, production, site, and project teams.Conduct design reviews and provide technical solutions to improve constructability and efficiency.Support testing, inspection, and commissioning activities where required.Here's what you'll needBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within modular construction, PODs, prefabrication, or MEP projects.Strong experience in HVAC and plumbing design.Villa/residential project experience is acceptable.Good knowledge of local mechanical codes, standards, and authority requirements.Experience with BIM coordination and multidisciplinary projects.
