Wood is recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join its UAE business unit focusing on providing day to day Mechanical Engineering support for site operations related queries / activities / risks to delivery of safe, reliable and compliant operations.This role is a full-time on-site role in Sharjah Reports to: Operations Engineering ManagerJob Objectives The Mechanical Engineer will provide day to day Mechanical Engineering support for site operations related queries / activities / risks to delivery of safe, reliable and compliant operations. Collaborates with site-based team to ensure that identified longer term engineering solutions are progressed to the appropriate team to reduce risk and grow production.Responsibilities:Performs day to day Mechanical Engineering support to deliver immediate operations support, working closely with the site team to resolve issues under the direction of the Operations Engineering Manager.Ensures that asset Mechanical Engineering risks are understood, appropriately risk assessed, and actions driven to reduce risk within agreed timeframe.Defines static mechanical engineering operating envelopes, monitors health of static mechanical equipment using operating envelopes, records and investigates excursions outside operating envelopes.Monitors static Mechanical Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and initiates corrective action as necessary.Provides Mechanical Engineering support to technical Management of Change (MoCs) and Engineering Queries (EQs).Identifies production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support production forecast and growth.Write, review, recommend technical input into Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).Provides static Mechanical Engineering coaching to client engineers.Generates, revises, reviews discipline Technical Documentation.Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of the productSuggest methods to improve operational efficiencyWork cross-functionally with different teams and organizationsExpected:BSc or BEng or MEng (UK), BSc (US), or international equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering subject.Professional accreditation – Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer.Experience and Job Requirements:Significant experience in an Operations Mechanical Engineering support role.Advanced technical knowledge and experience in engineering, with sound knowledge of the relevant industry codes, standards and regulations, and the ability to initiate guidance on the appropriate designs and systems to prevent, control and mitigate risks.Sound stakeholder management experience.
