More information about PPa’s services and projects is available at www.ppa-consult.com.Purpose of the Job:This is a mechanical engineering role responsible for supporting the delivery of mechanical design across data centre and mission-critical facilities in the Middle East and international markets.The role delivers technical design tasks under the guidance of senior team members and coordinates with other disciplines within the project team.The successful candidate will:Deliver mechanical design across data centre and mission-critical projectsCoordinate technical design with other disciplines and specialist teamsDevelop technical knowledge and delivery capability under senior engineer guidanceSupport client engagement during technical discussions and design coordinationContribute to construction-stage technical resolution and site support activities Job Accountabilities:Design Delivery·        Deliver mechanical design across concept, schematic, detailed design and construction-support stages.·        Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports, drawings and submissions.·        Ensure compliance with international standards, client requirements and industry best practice.·        Provide technical input to resolve design and coordination challenges.Project & Stakeholder Coordination·        Coordinate with electrical, public health, structural, architectural and specialist disciplines.·        Participate in technical workshops, design reviews and client meetings.·        Support project leads with technical progress reporting and quality checks.Technical Support (Construction & Delivery Stage)·        Support construction-stage design clarifications and technical responses.·        Participate in site visits and assist in resolving design-related issues.·        Review commissioning inputs to help ensure design intent is achieved on site.Continuous Development·        Receive technical guidance and review from Senior and Principal Engineers.·        Build engineering capability and knowledge within the mechanical team.·        Promote design consistency and best practice standards.Technical Knowledge:Strong knowledge and hands-on experience required across:·        Data Centre and mission-critical facility design.·        Mechanical infrastructure resilience and redundancy philosophies (N+1, 2N, Concurrent Maintainability).·        HVAC system design and energy-efficient solutions (PUE optimisation).·        Building Management Systems (BMS) integration.·        Mechanical plant selection and equipment sizing.·        Coordination of multidisciplinary engineering teams.·        International design standards and best practices (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, EN 50600, etc.).Qualifications & Education·        Degree in Mechanical Engineering (accredited university).Experience·        3–5 years of relevant consultancy experience.·        Exposure to Data Centre / mission-critical mechanical design.·        Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.·        Experience in international engineering consultancy environments.Knowledge & Skills·        Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards professional accreditation.·        Experience with Middle East regional codes and client base.·        Exposure to Tier III / IV data Centre design.·        Good commercial awareness of project delivery.
