The Mechanical Engineer translates complex technical systems into accurate designs and practical engineering solutions for high-end superyachts. You are an important link between different engineering disciplines, production teams, project leaders, planners, and suppliers.What will you do as a Mechanical Engineer?In this role, you are responsible for developing and integrating the mechanical systems that are essential to the performance, comfort, and reliability of a superyacht. You create detailed engineering drawings and layouts, ensuring that every technical solution is accurate, practical, and ready for installation.Your responsibilitiesCreating and developing piping schemes, plumbing systems, and routing layouts based on the overall yacht design;Engineering and integrating technical systems such as ventilation, heating, hydraulic installations, and sanitary systems;Preparing detailed layouts for technical spaces, panels, equipment, and other mechanical components;Translating technical concepts and system requirements into accurate and manufacturable 2D and 3D engineering drawings;Ensuring the correct integration of mechanical systems within the available space onboard;Working with AutoCAD and specialist 2D and 3D engineering software;Coordinating technical solutions with project leaders, planners, engineers, production teams, and external suppliers;Reviewing technical drawings and designs to verify their accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with applicable industry standards;Providing suppliers with complete and accurate technical information and specifications;Monitoring whether the required components and materials are available on time and delivered according to the agreed specifications;Identifying and resolving technical challenges during the engineering and construction process;Supporting an efficient transition from engineering to production by providing clear and complete technical documentation;Supporting the implementation of engineering solutions during construction and incorporating practical feedback where required.Working within the ship- and yachtbuilding sectorThis internationally renowned shipyard specializes in the design and construction of highly customized luxury yachts. As the next Mechanical Engineer, you are technically driven, precise, and comfortable solving complex engineering challenges.RequirementsYou have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of relevant professional experience, or an MBO-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering combined with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience;You have experience developing technical drawings and layouts within mechanical engineering;You have sufficient knowledge of AutoCAD and experience with specialist 2D and 3D engineering software;You have knowledge of mechanical systems such as piping, ventilation, heating, hydraulics, and sanitary installations and understand how technical systems must be integrated within complex and space-constrained environments;You are able to review technical drawings for accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with relevant standards;You are comfortable coordinating with different engineering disciplines, production teams, and suppliers;You have strong communication skills and work effectively both independently and within a team;You are fluent in both Dutch and English, written and spoken;You are eligible to work in the Netherlands.What do we offer?Working through Mobeco guarantees exciting and challenging projects within the ship- and yachtbuilding sector.Employment conditionsA gross salary of € 3750 to € 4500 per month;Outstanding secondary employment conditions;Support and encouragement in your professional and personal development;Personal contact and clear communication with Mobeco;If needed, relocation support to the Netherlands.About MobecoMobeco specializes in recruitment within shipbuilding, yacht building, offshore, and technical engineering industries.
