Mechanical Engineering Specialist

Position Title: Senior Mechanical EngineerReports to: Construction Manager / Project DirectorRole PurposeThe Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and managing all mechanical works related to the fit-out and operation of a cultural project. The role includes oversight of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and building management systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Technical OversightReview design drawings, shop drawings, and technical submittals for all mechanical systems.Ensure mechanical systems are designed and installed in line with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and international museum standards.Provide technical support to resolve site issues and coordinate with consultants and contractors.Construction SupervisionOversee the execution of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting works.Monitor installation activities to ensure compliance with specifications, quality, and safety requirements.Conduct regular inspections and prepare snag lists to ensure corrective actions are implemented.Coordination & InterfaceCoordinate with electrical and architectural teams to resolve MEP interface issues.Support the Construction Manager in managing subcontractors and suppliers.Attend coordination meetings and report on progress, risks, and issues.Testing, Commissioning & HandoverSupervise testing and commissioning of all mechanical systems.Ensure O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and training sessions are delivered as per contract requirements.Support project close-out, defect rectification, and handover to client representatives.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.4-8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with strong exposure to fit-out, museum, cultural, or large-scale building projects.Solid knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and BMS systems.Familiarity with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and international engineering standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.).Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Project / Primavera P6.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.Key AttributesHighly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.Capable of managing multiple priorities and working under pressure.Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in all mechanical works.Strong teamwork and stakeholder management abilities.
