About the Company Harmonee is an industrial enterprise in the non-ferrous metals sector with a production site in Kardzhali, Bulgaria, and a team of approximately 140 employees. It is implementing a program for the modernization and expansion of its zinc production. The first phase has been commissioned and includes a new Waelz plant for processing secondary zinc-bearing metallurgical materials. Digital systems for monitoring processes and equipment condition are being introduced across production. Output is oriented towards international markets.The Company is a member of the Bulgarian Association of the Metallurgical Industry (BAMI), the Bulgarian Federation of Industrial Energy Consumers (BFIEC) and the International Zinc Association (IZA).The Position The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the technical condition and reliability of mechanical equipment in production. The plant operates continuously, 24/7, which makes the prevention of unplanned downtime the primary objective of the role. As the plant is new, the role also includes establishing standards for maintenance, condition monitoring, failure analysis and spare parts planning.Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning and organizing preventive and corrective maintenance of key mechanical equipment, including the rotary kiln, drives, conveying systems, gas cleaning equipment and other production equipment.Scheduling maintenance work around the continuous production cycle and planned shutdowns.Analyzing data from monitoring systems (vibration, temperature, operating modes) to detect deviations early and prevent breakdowns.Performing root cause analysis of recurring failures and developing engineering solutions to eliminate them permanently.Defining preventive maintenance strategies and maintenance intervals.Ensuring the safe execution of maintenance work, including permit-to-work, equipment isolation and contractor supervision, in compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.Planning critical spare parts and consumables and maintaining optimal stock levels.Maintaining technical documentation and maintenance history in the automated monitoring system.Working with OEM documentation and communicating with local and international suppliers and service providers.Participating in the next phases of the modernization program and in the commissioning of new equipment.RequirementsUniversity degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related engineering field.At least 3 years of experience in mechanical equipment maintenance in an industrial production environment.In-depth knowledge of the operating principles and repair technology of drives, gearboxes, bearing assemblies, pumps, fans and conveying systems.Ability to analyze technical data and work with technical documentation.Working-level English: technical documentation and business correspondence with suppliers.Preferred QualificationsExperience with rotary kilns, high-temperature processes or gas cleaning equipment.Experience with condition-based maintenance (vibration analysis, thermography) and reliability methods (RCA, FMEA, RCM).Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent).Experience in coordinating maintenance teams and external contractors.What We OfferAdditional performance-based pay linked to individual results and contribution, including implemented improvement proposals.Regular day-shift working hours.Company-organized transport to the workplace.Meal vouchers.The opportunity to help build the maintenance system for a new production plant and to take part in the next phases of the modernization program.How to Apply If your professional qualifications match the requirements above and you would like to join our growing team, please send your CV to career@harmonee2012.com.
